A Retro Home is a Happy Home
Backstory:
My love for thrifting really began with my mother, she was always dragging me to antique malls, garage sales and flea markets to look for Frankoma pottery. From a young age I was trained to spot a piece of prairie green pottery from across the room. As I grew older, I began to appreciate the mid-century style of my grandparent's house, the teak coffee tables, the Nelson sunburst clock and Eames furniture. My grandparent's were graphics designers with an eye for good design. When I moved out on my own, I inherited several pieces of furniture and a slew of mid-century goodies from my grandparent's and the rest is history. After spending time learning about all of the designers and pieces I had, I developed my own eye for fun and functional things for the shop.
The Process:
Any free moment I have, I find myself thrifting. Working in a different city has allowed me to explore different thrifts after work. On weekends I'm out at flea markets, antique malls and thrift stores finding unique items for the shop. I just love the thrill of the hunt and sifting through the thrifts for unique design.
