Absolutely perfect :) incredible creativity. This is one of the most unique quilts I've ever seen.
For the love of...
My process may be a little unconventional—I let the fabric speak to me and rarely know where a design will take me from start to finish! That is one of the things I love about quilting and sewing: there are no rules! I can think outside the proverbial box! Add a little here, cut a bit there and in the end it all comes together and becomes a masterpiece to me! I guess that's what makes many of my items one-of-a-kind!
My design ideas are unique. I love color, texture and BOLD! Whether it’s modern or traditional, I always try to include an unexpected twist. My work space is my dining room table—which for the most part is controlled chaos. Now, if I could only get all my ideas from my brain to the cutting table...always a work in progress!
I get inspiration from many places, but none more than from my daughter Britt! She has pushed, pulled and encouraged me—her creativity, artistry and independence has always amazed me. She is the one who started me on my quilting journey—reluctantly at first—but with a passion I never knew I had!
Etsy has allowed me to tap in to a new creative side and given me that much-needed outlet! With the support of my entire family: my daughter who inspires, my husband who puts up with it and gives great feedback, my son who designed my banner and avatar and is my ‘go to’ guy, to the D-O-G (shhh....she thinks she's a human!) who insists I take breaks for some fresh air and to clear my mind!
Owner, Maker, Designer
I have been sewing since I was a girl in school decades ago...It wasn't until 2005 that I delved into the world of quilting! Since then my passion for sewing has only grown!
Its all about Mary! Mary had a rough beginning to her life. Abused and neglected—until one day this little pitbull mix found a family who adores, loves & cares for her. She won the lottery (so to speak) when she let us adopt her!
In Loving Memory...
This my Grama Opal—who inspired the name of my shop. She always said to me "Jayne, your thin as a twig"—hence 'Twiggy & Opal'. She lived to the ripe old age of 99! We miss her dearly. XOXOX
All items are sewn by me! I have taken great care to make quality items, design pieces that are unique and make an 'artistic statement'.
~ All Twiggy & Opal items are 'Ready To Ship'~
