This spindle has a simple, beautiful, restrained design with lovely wood grain and a wicked sharp tip. Very enjoyable to spin with.

This wood is beautiful. The shape is fun but very effective. It is wonderful when an object is both artful and functional.

This is such a beautifully made spindle with gorgeous woods. I have been so busy admiring it that I have not spun on it yet!

To TwistedGrain
I came to turning after learning to spin, and collecting a substantial spindle stash. I found myself hunting certain woods and realized I'd like to make my own. There are currently five styles; the Nested Arrow (Russian inspired), the Contingency (Tibetan/Russian hybrid), the Thorn (phang inspired), the Dart (cross between a bee & a contingency) and the Wee Bee (tahkli inspired). There is always another type in the works, and several more on the horizon. Even my husband is getting into the act, forsaking his bowls (occasionally) for his spinning top, (another hybrid Spindle with a carbon shaft).
My goal is to balance the styling I've adopted as well as the natural grain within each piece of wood I cut. This makes for individual spindles with personalities. No two are ever exactly alike, but then neither are the spinners that use them.
I welcome custom requests, as I like to try to make spindle dreams come true
