Announcement    Update 04/02/2020 Amidst this crisis I'm keeping my head up and still working as much as I can to get everyone's made to order/commissions done and shipped. Finished ready to ship pieces will still ship mostly as scheduled.
Be safe out there everyone.

I'm an Independent fulltime artist/prop maker/character designer/performer just doing what I love and bringing the designs in my head into this reality. Everything I make and sell is from my own design concepts, individually hand-crafted.

When you buy something from me, you are not buying a product, you are buying one of a kind wearable art.
To add to this - If you order something custom instead of a ready to ship piece, please disclose if it's needed by a deadline. Otherwise turn around times are approximate and subject to delays, as it goes with any one person operation. Etsy only allows 10 weeks processing time max on listings, but for larger things like custom full suits these parameters don't fit what I do. Please take this into Consideration and be patient.

About Twohornsunited

Sales 398
On Etsy since 2011

My whole life has been full of creating, and these are the fruits of my imagination.

I started crafting original costumes in 2005 when I was just 15.
Very early in my life since my first memories I've loved building things, and over time this all culminated into ideas for armor and mechanical deities. At the time I had nothing else but recycled materials, so I began hacking away until I made my first suit of armor. This would be the catalyst for much bigger things to come as soon as I further explored this passion.

I started off making only 1 suit a year for myself, and after a few years I kept pushing and was working with professional-grade materials. The feeling of creating them was so fun and fulfilling, so I eventually gained enough experience through a maddening amount of trial and error and developed special techniques of my own. I also learned to wire LEDs, photograph my own work professionally, and a range of other skills to achieve and portray greater ideas than I was ever able to before.
I started posting them and they eventually gained internet attention. More and more people were inquiring to buy them,
So I decided to open an Etsy shop in 2011.

I pretty much just did this, as well as worked a few miserable dead end jobs until the end of 2012 when I decided It was time to take things a step further.
After realizing that selling my art was starting to make more than what I getting paid in a life-draining 9-5, I decided I'd rather solely make art for a living and would be much happier that way. This was what I was meant to do.

After I pursued this full time, within 2 years of comfortable self-employment and moving around, I had a fully functional home production studio by 2014.
I also began doing fashion shows, designing personas for djs, performers &, producers, and began showing up to more and more events with my costumes
I can honestly say that being able to live off something you absolutely love doing is one of the best feelings there is, even if it's a lot of responsibility and stress at times.
All the kindness, love, and support from fans makes it even all the more worth while.

I've had the pleasure of working with a so many amazaing clients over the years most notably filmmakers, musicians, and performers that really make use of my work in a creative way!

I don't have any plans to stop, so keep an eye on me if you like what I'm doing here. & Thanks for reading! :)

Additional policies and FAQs
INFO FOR MADE TO ORDER ITEMS:
-If you are purchasing a made-to-order listing, please ask if you are unsure about how long your item will take to be made. I specify on each listing the approximate amount of time the specific piece will take, but etsy only allows a limited turn around time on their listing, so it doesn't fit the parameters of my work especially with large orders or ones payed off over time. Sometimes it may take a little longer (or not as long) depending on what my workload is. If you need it GUARANTEED by a specific deadline, please discuss this with me before buying, as addition rush charges may apply depending on the date requested.

- COMMISSION COMPLETION TIME AND DEADLINE INFO:
Commissions for new designs are different from custom orders, in that they require me to a make a new thing from the ground up instead of a customized version of something already done.

When commissioning me, I likely ask you if there's a deadline. If not, I'll give an estimsted completion time - this is not a guaranteed date for when it will be done, only approximate.

When I'm creating an entirely new piece, it's difficult to estimate exactly how long it will take, and I've decided the best way possible for my artistic process is to avoid really tight deadlines - when possible. That being said; If you do have a strict deadline, a rush-order surcharge may apply for any of the above. From the quoted amount, an additional 5% charge will be applied to every week subtracted from the original est turn around time.

All in all, If the order needs to be guaranteed to arrive by a specific deadline, just specify.

I offer limited payment plans and only 25% of the quoted total price is to be paid up front before the order is officiated and placed on my order queue.
**** I will not begin work on the piece until AT LEAST 100% of the total amount is payed off. And will not ship the finished piece until 100% + shipping costs are paid.
Opting to pay the full amount up front is the fasted expedited way to receive custom work from payment date to delivery date.

COMMISSION PROCESS:

To commission me to make you a personalized piece, first we start with the design being requested. You can send me a detailed description, sketches, reference photos...etc (but make sure you're aware of my terms in the paragraph below). All reference photos or points within them will be used as inspiration as you request and as I agree to. I'll ask you to include details such as color palate, finish type, If you want LEDs, their color(s), and placement you desire. If I accept the commission request, I'll give you a price quote.

It's worth noting that I only make original art of my own designs while retaining my artistic rights and freedom, but when taking on commissions I follow whatever guidelines the customer gives me to create something tailored to their needs.
The finished piece will be a TwoHornsUnited original through and through. If you plan on owning the exclusive rights to the design's likeness or intend on monetizing merchandise with it's image, please discuss this with me beforehand and we can work something out. Otherwise it can be correctly assumed I own the intellectual property of all work produced and hold all legal rights accompanying that.
I always discuss what I'll be doing with my customers throughout the process, go back and forth with sketches (if needed, after a deposit), send progress photos, and show high quality pictures of the finished design to be approved before it's shipped out.

If you have any further questions about the terms above, do not hesitate to message me.
