Although the dragon's wing was damaged due to the vagaries of international mail, she was still very sweet looking. Cathy was very responsive and immediately issued me a full refund when she heard what had happened.
A family run gift shop based in the Welsh Mountains.
Our shop is named after my parents farm, Ty Siriol Farm on the lovely Welsh mountain, Mynyddislwyn. Ty Siriol (pronounced Tee Si-ree-ol) is Welsh for cheerful house.
My mother, Christina and I (Cathy) are the main crafts persons and between us we do a wide range of crafts. This Etsy shop focuses mainly on ceramics, whereas my mother runs the sister Etsy shop Ty Siriol Crafts where we showcase our other crafts (painting, crochet etc). My father, also Chris, has helped us to get off the ground by helping set up the shops online and by advertising for us. I am still working on my brother as he is a carpenter and makes fantastic things. He claims to be too busy but you never know, I might convince him one day. ;-)
Please take a look at our sister shop, Ty Siriol Crafts. You can find it here.
If you would like to know more about us and our shop you can find us on Facebook. There you can see what goes on behind the scenes and some photographs of our work in progress.
Thank you for popping by. xx
Owner, Maker, Designer, Curator, Artisan, Proprietor
I am the owner of Ty Siriol Ceramics & Crafts. As well as running the website and the accounts I am also the primary creator of the ceramics and crochet side of the shop. I love playing with clay, I'm sure it's just the grown up version of Playdoh!
Maker, Designer, Artist, Craftsperson
Christina (my mum) paints all the oil paintings but also does some of the ceramics and crocheted work. She really can turn her hand to anything and has always inspired me.
All pieces are individually hand made by me or my mother, Chris in the Welsh mountains.
I love ceramics and I make things that appeal to me and to challenge me. I have this freedom because I don’t have to do it, rather I want to and I believe that this is reflected through my work. To me ceramics is like therapy. There’s nothing like seeing something being formed from what is essentially earth. It’s magical.
We also have a second shop run by my mother, Chris, called Ty Siriol Crafts where we showcase our other crafts, including crocheted art and accessories, and my mother’s oil paintings. You can find it here, www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TySiriolCrafts
