From start to finish, we work with our wonderful clients to create individual invitation suites that truly reflect who they are as a couple as well as their vision for design.

░ We offer two options for your wedding stationery: CUSTOM ORDER artwork -or- COMPLETED DESIGN non-custom artwork.

░ We believe in quality- in the ART of creating with our hands. Unfortunately, many design studios incorporate ubiquitous pre-fab watercolor clip art icons into their clients' "custom" wedding designs. We consider your invitations as HEIRLOOMS; each of our designs are thoughtfully hand painted, here in our studio in the lovely Sonoran Desert.

░ Each card we print is hand-fed, one by one. We love this TACTILE experience and the opportunity to oversee the cards printed for your special guests. Each and every card will look like an original watercolor painting; the first glimpse into your most wonderful day.

1. We enjoy the tactile process of printing our custom artwork to ensure the highest quality it deserves for your wedding! For this reason, we do not offer digital files
2. Custom Design Standard Timeline 8-10 business days each page we design for you. We do not work on custom designs concurrently; one illustration is designed at a time. Each revision, light illustration revision or text revision will add 3-5 business days, each revision. Printing Standard Timeline commences after all designs have been approved and is 8-10 business days.
3. Custom Design Expedited Timeline + $175/ea, 3 business days per item we design for you. We do not work on custom designs concurrently; one illustration is designed at a time. Each revision, light illustration revision or text revision will add 1-3 business days, each revision. Printing Expedited Timeline commences after all designs have been approved and is 3 business days.
4. We generate artwork based on the forms filled out by our clients. Design work cannot begin until the forms have been submitted. When a pencil proof has commenced, and client subsequently changes their mind in the overall aesthetic and/or the changes requested will severely alter the pencil proof and/or body of text and/or spacing of text, a new form will need to be filled out, and a new proof will need to be created, on a new sheet of watercolor paper, which will result in a new design timeline, and if applicable, an additional exclusive design fee starting at $175 depending upon the timeline. A subsequent change in design direction of a Larger Original painting will result in a new design fee starting at $425, based on the timeline.
5. Although we do our best to scan each card throughout the creative process for any errors, Tying the Knots does not employ editors to proofread text or double check dates or text that have been submitted by our clients. There is no grammar, syntax or spelling editor in the photo editing program we use to create your invitations. Please note that you are responsible for all text and date accuracy as well as approved layout aesthetic and we are not responsible for typos or aesthetic spatial errors/inconsistencies after you have approved final proofs.
6. Tying the Knots studio hours: Monday – Thursday, closed on all major holidays, and that the out of studio dates are found in the signature section of each email from Tying the Knots and is updated periodically without subsequent messages to notify me of such dates.
7. The design timeline and cannot begin until contract has been signed and submitted and the deposit is paid and any applicable form from our Welcome Page has been submitted via email. I also understand this payment is non-refundable. If paying in full to achieve the credit, I understand this payment is non-refundable.
8. The printing timeline cannot begin until all items to be printed are approved and any remaining payment due has been paid. I understand printing cannot begin until all applicable fees are paid. I understand the printing payment is non-refundable. If paying in full to achieve the credit, I understand this payment is non-refundable.
9. Tying the Knots retains copyright to all artwork and may not be used in any other form digital or printed unless agreed upon by the artist, Meagan Harrington Diaz in explicit, written form.
10. Print quantities fewer than 75 (not cumulative) are subject to a $125 fee, each -or- $500 flat rate fee, whichever is more economical.
11. Reprints, from 1 to 1,000, are subject to a $125 fee, each print order (may be cumulative). Standard 8-10 business day (M-TH) timeline will start anew with each new print order. Reprints are not expedited unless upgraded to be expedited.
12. Mailing envelopes before the printing of our project is available upon request for an additional $125
13. Please understand that we cannot check in on clients that have delayed communication. This includes but is not limited to a hiatus from our project due to clients’ leave of absence such as work trips, vacations, family matters, etc. We work with sensitive timelines each and every day and need to keep our deadlines with scheduled projects including communication, design, printing and shipping logistics. If we don’t hear back from clients in a timely manner, we cannot assume responsibility on checking in on these projects that will be delayed as a result. If projects are delayed due to lack of client communication Tying the Knots will not accelerate timelines without expedited fees and associated timelines.
14. Please note we cannot assume to know which size/color/layout is right for your project as each and every client has a different and wonderfully unique vision from the other. We are more than happy to open that line of communication at your request. For in-depth, personalized direction with valuable insight into specific details that align with your wedding aesthetic, many clients consult wedding planners who can advise their clients in person and in greater detail than we can with our limited digital correspondence.
15. Communication is key in developing your custom wedding suites. We love working intimately with couples and their families and understand that with some projects, many voices would like to heard. Understandably, this can create some confusion and congestion in the overall flow of a project with multiple emails and/or calls from multiple people and wedding planners with the possibility of conflicting ideas. We ask that our main line of communication be with the same person for the duration of our project in order to keep a fluid project pace.
16. We understand our clients most likely have never done this before and are balancing many contracts and dates when planning a wedding, however, Tying the Knots cannot be held responsible for clients “forgetting” or “not knowing” what they have signed. Please take the time to read this contract and reach out to us if you need further explanation on anything; we are happy to go over any of this in great detail: especially the timelines. It may be helpful to print this page out for your records for easy reference as well as utilize our Running Current Calendar to assist in staying on track with your timelines which can be found here.
To avoid any added stress we try not offer final proofs within 2 weeks or less from your wedding date unless previously determined with rush fees. If delayed correspondence results in delayed design pencil proof feedback, delayed final proof feedback or delayed printing feedback, applicable delayed correspondence rush fees and possible expedited shipping fees will be applied.
Please understand that we cannot check in on clients that have delayed communication. We work with sensitive timelines each and every day and need to keep our deadlines with scheduled projects including communication, design, printing and shipping logistics. If we don’t hear back from clients in a timely manner, we cannot assume responsibility on checking in on these projects that will be delayed as a result.
Because we work on multiple time-sensitive events concurrently, envelope and paper selections that are featured in our paper and envelope selection sections can go quickly and might not be available without advance notice. Even with advance notice, very rarely we will receive a package from one of our suppliers that has been damaged. We will find the most expedient resolution to the delay but may not be held accountable for delays that are as a result of shipping of erroneous items, damaged items or delayed items. Although we do our very best to plan in advance, some situations are out of our control such as delays caused by weather, FedEx, USPS, UPS website malware and damaged supplies in shipment to us.
DESIGN
• After filling out our contact form and communication via email or phone consultation, we hope to get a pretty good idea of your aesthetic. We will always offer pencil proofs first from which we can revise and refine. Most ideas for illustration work out perfectly, but ultimately, the artist, Meagan Harrington Diaz, has final approval on whether or not a design is feasible.
•Although we do our best to scan each card throughout the creative process for any errors, Tying the Knots does not employ editors to proofread text or double check dates that were given to us from our clients. There is no spellcheck in the photo editing program we use to create your invitations. Please note that you are responsible for all text and dates and we are not responsible for typos after you have submitted the printing agreement.
•Tying the Knots studio hours: Monday – Thursday and that the out of studio dates are found in the signature section of each email from Tying the Knots and is updated periodically without subsequent messages to notify me of such dates.
•Printing timeline cannot begin until the printing agreement has been signed and submitted and once the printing agreement has been signed and submitted I understand the printing payment is non-refundable.

PRINTING/ENVELOPES
Printing is an additional fee to be determined after design work is completed, final proofs are approved and printing agreement and payment have been submitted. Orders under 50 (not collectively but each invitation count under 50, each rsvp count under 50, etc.) are subject to a $125 fee, each printing listing.
Because of the many wonderful steps involved in creating your custom stationery without the use of automated machines, there may be variations in color, and size of the final, printed product. Some cards are custom cut, some papers are mould-made, and embellishments hand-finished, all of which contribute to the one of a kind exclusivity of your final product.
We are happy to send your envelopes out before the printing of our project upon request for an additional $125. Please note:
1) We ship to the address provided at checkout
2) Because we work on multiple projects at one time, clients are responsible for keeping track of the color, size, and type of envelope mailed prior to printing schedules.
3) Save the Dates, Invitations, RSVP cards and Thank You Cards include envelopes. Outer Envelopes, Specialty Envelopes, or Supplemental Envelopes are an additional charge.
4) If we are lining the envelopes, please keep in mind most calligraphers prefer to address an unlined envelope, please refer to your calligrapher for further information before we mail the envelopes.
Although we strive to offer the highest quality products, please note we do not manufacture the envelopes and claim no responsibility for the efficacy of the closure of any envelopes supplied with our custom stationery, as well as the aesthetic satisfaction of the envelopes. Our clients are welcome to supply their own envelopes, but there is no cash value if our clients choose to omit or replace the envelopes that are provided with our custom stationery for any reason.

TIMELINES
Custom Design means illustrating from scratch; this takes time, as it should. There is one artist, Meagan Harrington Diaz. We schedule each and every illustration and print order for each wedding worked on concurrently- similarly to how the general public would schedule consultations, doctor’s appointments, custom framing orders, etc. Each slot is scheduled weeks out, which is why our timelines are broken down thoroughly throughout this contract and which is why expediting custom design or printing needs to be compensated for as it interrupts the natural flow of existing scheduled projects.
•Standard Design Timeline 8-10 business days per item we design for you. Each revision, light illustration revision or text revision will add 3-5 business days.
•Expedited Design Timeline 3 business days per item we design for you. Each revision, light illustration revision or text revision will add 1-2 business days.
•Standard Print Timeline 8-10 business days begin after all items have been approved by client.
•Expedited Print Timeline 3 business days begin after all items have been approved by client, double the standard printing cost.

PROOFING
Each revision, light illustration revision or text revision will add 3-5 business days unless an expedited or rush timeline has been previously determined which will add 1-3 business days, each piece.
When a pencil proof has commenced, and client subsequently changes their mind in the overall aesthetic and/or the changes requested will severely alter the pencil proof, a new proof will need to be created, on a new sheet of watercolor paper, which will result in a new design timeline.
Once final proofs are approved, the revision process closes. If changes are requested post final approval on text such as font choices or layout of the text or content of the text, each subsequent change to proof incurs a $50 fee. We cannot alter the watercolors once added. Tying the Knots Custom Watercolor Wedding Stationery is not responsible for any misspellings, typos of our final, approved proofs, or any inconsistencies within a provided address list.

COPYRIGHT
Tying the Knots retains copyright to its illustrations, and all original artwork created for you as a result of this agreement. To the extent any such work may be deemed to be on commission by you and a work for hire, you hereby agree that Tying the Knots, and not you, shall be the owner of the copyright. You agree that for any reproductions of such works, digital or physical, you shall pay Tying the Knots $250 for each design, as well as the same print price as outlined in our print pricing plus 50% for each copy made and that failure to report and pay such charges shall be deemed a breach of this contract. We dedicate many hours to our clients' custom projects through communication via email and/or phone consultations and designate specific dates exclusively for each project when creating our schedules. Purchased design work that has commenced via email correspondence, and/or pencil/watercolor proofing, is valid for up to 6 weeks. If we do not hear from you during this 6 week window, projects will be considered idle or abandoned and will be considered completed and marked "shipped" through the original listing.
STUDIO HOURS
Tying the Knots hours are Monday through Thursday, closed on holidays.
Email is our preferred line of communication so we don’t miss a single detail and we need to refer, often, to our written correspondence.
We are a company of one-three (depending on our wonderful assistants' schedules), so occasionally we are out of the studio on the same dates. We notify all of our existing clients in advance of our absences and plan our projects accordingly to stay on track with our deadlines. Once our project is underway, correspondence will be conducted through our email at info [!at] tyingtheknots.com in which a running calendar of our Out of Studio Dates is listed with each email.

REFUNDS
We understand your time is valuable- especially when planning a wedding. The time we devote to our clients is valuable, too. In starting each and every project, much time is devoted to answering emails and/or phone consultations, reviewing and analyzing file attachments, calculating timelines and general thoughtfulness of the concept of designs and initial questions via email or phone consultations. This is why we require a non-refundable $150 as a retainer. After the first proof has been finalized and approved, the remaining non-refundable balance is due before resuming our project.

Due to the customized nature of our finished, printed projects, your printed custom stationery cannot be refunded or exchanged.
