About

My love of nature and science inspires the colors I use to dye yarn.

I have been teaching high school science for over 30 years. When students ask me when I became interested in science my reply is "Since I was a little kid." I respond in a similar way when asked about my interest in the fiber arts. I recall knitting when I was a kid but then took a very long hiatus, during which I dabbled in fiber crafting in many projects.

And then. Then I saw sock patterns and it opened up a whole new world to me. So many yarns, so many colors, so much eye candy. Now I always have a sock project or two on the needles.

I find my inspiration from nature for dyeing woolen yarns. This is a perfect marriage for me - my insatiable quest for scientific knowledge opened up my eyes as a child to the beauty that surrounds me. These yarns are my attempt in translating the beauty of nature into a skein of yarn you will enjoy in your creations.

Frequently asked questions
Hank or Cake?

If you would like your yarn in a cake instead of a hank, please leave a message when purchasing or send me a convo. I usually pack and ship as soon as possible, so if you delay in sending the message, I may not get it in time.

All monitors are different, so yarns may look slightly different in person. I try my best to put the colors in the description of the yarn.

Superwash yarns are machine washable but I would recommend hand washing for longevity of the garment. I wash and set the yarns as thoroughly as possible but I recommend washing the item separately the first time.

Custom and personalized orders

I use USPS First Class or Priority in the USA. There are international shipping options, and upgrades available by contacting me at time of sale. Insurance, confirmation, or international customs are extras that the buyer is responsible for and a customs form will be on the shipping label.

Return Policy

I do not accept returns on yarn unless the error is mine (shipping out wrong base, color by mistake). If you find that you do have a problem with it, please message me and I will try to resolve the problem as best as I can.
