I'm Jorge. I make license plate frames that don't look like license plate frames.
It started with a workbench and a bad idea: what if the frame looked like something was melting off the back of your car? After a few dozen tries, the slime dripped right, an alien was hanging off the edge watching traffic, and UPPP existed.
The aliens were only the first collection. I work in themes: slime, skulls, cyberpunk, clean and elegant pieces for people who want something subtler, Halloween drops for the fall, and zodiac signs after that. New collections come out regularly, so if you don't see your thing yet, it's probably on my workbench right now.
Everything is designed by me, made by me, and finished by hand. The details get painted one at a time, which is why no two come out exactly alike. I check every piece before it goes in the mailer.
I make them in small batches. The alien frame comes in eight colors, and two of them glow in the dark - Slime Green is the one most people go for. They charge in daylight and light up once it gets dark. Want a glow color? Just ask me and I'll tell you which ones.
Why any of this? A car in a parking lot is about the most anonymous object in America, and it doesn't have to be. Somebody walks past yours, catches the detail, and smiles. That's the whole business plan.
