Creative Outlet -(A MUST HAVE)

Thank you for visiting my ETSY shop!
Everything in my shop is 100% made from scratch by me.

I was a professional dancer for most of my life and know the human body as a means of expression. The idea of gesture and the sculptural nature of pose and position is something I translate into jewelry making. The natural world and specifically flowers, such an integral part of the ballet, has been a secondary influence both inspiring the gardener in me as well as a huge source of design ideas. Costume also has influenced my very impetus to create adornments and sculptural embellishments for the body. I was born in Miami and grew up in Central Florida. Being outside and near the water was a daily luxury and indeed I scavenge and gather many items and ideas at the waters’ edge. My father is an architect and a fine carpenter. I grew up amidst constant construction of furniture, boats and house renovations. The making of three dimensional forms was second nature. My sister and mother are painters so art in my background is a given.

Movement, texture, and color guide me as I take into consideration what I want each stone to convey--to be; the centerpiece or a mere afterthought. For instance hands are so vital and we use them to communicate so much none verbal information so I have made rings that are larger than normal and sculptural and draw attention to the hands as tools. Movement, texture, and color have brought me full circle to a substantial new kinetic series of pod necklaces and rings. Dance within the parts that make the whole and sounds by which to move.

I live in Seattle, WA now with my husband, two boys, and 2 cats- (Bella -aka crazy lady & Max-the hunter) and my new yellow lab puppy Maui. My workshop is based in my own home where I am working almost everyday. When I am in need of enrichment I work in my garden which after 7 years is still a work in progress as is life and jewelry making. I spend as much time as I can with my family and during the summer my boys and I are outside as much as possible. In my spare time I love to read, take pictures, and walk on the beach for hours and hours if you let me-my boys usually let me know when my time is up.

I use only fair trade and conflict free diamonds, all of my gemstones are from local wholesalers who I have worked with for many years. I don’t buy stones sight unseen. I have to hold it and turn it in the light-that is how I get inspired. On occasion I will use a heated or enhanced stones to lesson the cost for some customers but it will be written in the item description.

I hope that you find something in my shop that you love as much as I loved making it. Ursula

Additional policies and FAQs
Ring Sizing: Rings are sold as is, and cannot be resized unless it is made to order.

***Jewelry Care:
Over time, sterling silver will tarnish. To help prevent this, store silver jewelry in a jewelry box or tightly sealed plastic bag. Avoid wearing silver jewelry when swimming in chlorinated water & seawater. To clean and remove tarnish, polish silver gently with a soft polishing cloth or a Polishing Pad. Do not use Silver Dipping Cleaner as it can cause damage to many resins and gems. Many stones can be cleaned by scrubbing gently using a mild dish soap and a soft bristle brush (old toothbrushes work great).
