I'm Maximiliano Gimenez and I tell you how I turned my passion into work. Although at times it seemed strange to say it, the years of experience have given me this title to which I am grateful and to which I have never stopped admiring ... that of artisan. I love my masks and my crafts, I like to learn from my mistakes and sometimes transform something badly done into something new and innovative. I started with papier-mâché at the age of twenty-one, a couple of weeks after arriving from Argentina directly to Venice, and since then I have never taken off my apron.



Nothing has changed that much; I am a lover of history and art in all its forms, it is not strange if I tell you that since I stepped on the city of canals I have fallen in love and passionate about Venice and my new job. Even today I love to look at the smiles on the faces of my clients, friends and all those who live their own experiences within this unique world that are masks, and also contribute to make all my works known to other people.

When I decided to open Unmasked Store, I didn't know what form it would take... maybe I don't know yet but of one thing I'm sure, I wanted innovation, I wanted cutting-edge products, quality content, I wanted to collect all the information about masks in the world and build a blog to bring together all the fans from anywhere in the world. My goals within this project and I would say almost unconscious were and still are: first to revive this art (craftsmanship). It seems that over the years it has lost its magic and artisans know that it is not entirely true, we know that the magic is still there and we want to share it.


Secondly, to enhance the unique quality of products made with papier-mâché, leather and many other materials that I love and that I think it is essential to continue working to keep art alive and understand the importance of working with your own hands. . 'I learned by making masks.

Today we are in the construction period, I started alone but today I am no longer alone. I am lucky to have a wife who feeds my dreams in a practical way, takes pictures of the masks, works on the graphics of our website, gives me her ideas, etc ... we managed to do a good teamwork. And our little daughter has fun painting masks and her own drawings and seeing how starting from nothing with work and patience we create a beautiful and original mask. We have chosen to live our work as an adventure and we are happy to do so. But as I said before, we still want to build, and dreams never end.


I dream of a working community where everyone earns something. Where we bring quality products made in Italy to the hand of any citizen of the world... and we are working on it. I hope I can continue to give that original touch to your home, that unexpected expression at your party, and also the magnificent beauty at carnival or wherever you want ... the important thing is that the magic is there and for everyone. Soy Maximiliano Gimenez y les cuento cómo convertí mi pasión en trabajo. Aunque por momentos me pareció extraño decirlo, los años de experiencia me han dado este título al que agradezco y al que nunca he dejado de admirar ... el de artesano. Amo mis máscaras y mis manualidades, me gusta aprender de mis errores y, a veces, transformar algo mal hecho en algo nuevo e innovador. Empecé con el papel maché a los veintiún años, un par de semanas después de llegar de Argentina directamente a Venecia, y desde entonces nunca me he quitado el delantal.



Nada ha cambiado tanto; Soy un amante de la historia y el arte en todas sus formas, no es extraño si te digo que desde que pisé la ciudad de los canales me he enamorado y apasionado de Venecia y mi nuevo trabajo. Incluso hoy en día me encanta mirar las sonrisas en los rostros de mis clientes, amigos y todos aquellos que viven sus propias experiencias dentro de este mundo único que son las máscaras, y además contribuir a dar a conocer todas mis obras a otras personas.

Cuando decidí abrir Unmasked Store, no sabía qué forma tomaría ... quizás aún no lo sé pero de una cosa estoy seguro, quería innovación, quería productos de vanguardia, contenido de calidad, Quería recopilar toda la información sobre máscaras en el mundo y construir un blog para reunir a todos los fanáticos de cualquier parte del mundo. Mis objetivos dentro de este proyecto y diría casi inconscientes eran y siguen siendo: primero revivir este arte (la artesanía). Parece que con los años ha perdido su magia y los artesanos sabemos que no es del todo cierto, sabemos que la magia sigue ahí y queremos compartirla.


En segundo lugar, potenciar la calidad única de los productos elaborados con papel maché, cuero y muchos otros materiales que me encantan y que creo que es fundamental seguir trabajando para mantener vivo el arte y entender la importancia de trabajar con las propias manos. . 'Aprendí haciendo máscaras.

Hoy estamos en el período de construcción, comencé solo pero hoy ya no estoy solo. Tengo la suerte de tener una esposa que alimenta mis sueños de manera práctica, toma fotografías de las máscaras, trabaja en los gráficos de nuestra web, me da sus ideas, etc… logramos hacer un buen trabajo en equipo. Y nuestra pequeña hija se divierte pintando máscaras y sus propios dibujos y viendo como partiendo de la nada con trabajo y paciencia creamos una máscara hermosa y original. Hemos elegido vivir nuestro trabajo como una aventura y estamos felices de hacerlo. Pero como dije antes, todavía queremos construir, y los sueños nunca terminan.


Sueño con una comunidad de trabajo donde todos ganen algo. Donde llevamos productos de calidad made in Italy a la mano de cualquier ciudadano del mundo… y estamos trabajando en ello. Espero poder seguir dando ese toque original a tu hogar, esa expresión inesperada en tu fiesta, y también la magnífica belleza en el carnaval o donde quieras ... lo importante es que la magia está ahí y para todos.
