Announcement   .WELCOME TO UNWANTED WOOD!

First and foremost, I believe that wood is precious and should not be wasted. I feel that trees (although a renewable resource) are disappearing far too rapidly. Secondly, I love working it. This poses a moral dilemma for me. To help overcome this I strive to use recycled/reclaimed/salvaged wood in all that is displayed here. Some sources of this wood include cutoffs from local cabinet shops and sawmills, discarded and thrift store furniture, and old timbers from remodeled and torn down structures. I have also been known to raid my friends' firewood piles if I see something that looks interesting! Let it be known that just because a piece of wood is no longer wanted as is, it doesn't have to end up in a landfill. I am constantly amazed at the beauty that is revealed in a piece of lumber when decades of wear, or multiple layers of paint are removed.

Thanks for looking.

Steve

P.S. Should you have something in mind that you might like crafted from wood, but don't see anything like it in this shop, feel free to contact me. I enjoy the challenge of creating a one of a kind piece and would be happy to work with you on your project.

Shipping
I ship my work via USPS with delivery confirmation included in the shipping price. Most items will be mailed via USPS First Class service. Larger items will be shipped Priority mail.

Shipping insurance is available, for an extra fee, at the buyer’s request. If you feel that you would like your package insured, please contact me before purchase. Once your package has been dropped off at the Post Office, it is out of my control.
UnwantedWood can not be liable for any lost or damaged packages.
Thank you for your understanding.

I try to keep my shipping fees to a minimum. However, please note that time and material are required to carefully pack an item for shipment in addition to Post Office shipping fees.

Concerning my packaging methods:

I’m new to Etsy, but I have been selling and shipping my work for many years. I try to re-use packing and shipping materials whenever possible. Please don’t be alarmed when your package arrives and it looks like it’s gone around the world. It’s possible that the packaging has!
The shipping material that I purchase is made from recycled material and is recyclable itself. I encourage you to re-use, or recycle the packaging.

A note about the padded mailer envelopes that I often use: If you open them at the end instead of pulling the strip tab, the envelope can readily be re-used.
