The City Girl met an Alpaca and fell in love.

So many people have asked how I got started dyeing yarn? It was a difficult yet quick decision. I was looking for something in my life (like it wasn't already full with knitting, sewing, and cross stitching). I knew I did not want to venture into the spinning or weaving endeavor (I love all of you who do, but it does not do it for me). Friends that I have knitted with always said that my color selections were spot on and that I should start dyeing. I said No I was not going to try dyeing, that there was plenty of pretty colors out in the world already. But, I was hooked after the first skein that I dyed and dropped on the counter because I didn't realize how hot it was. All of a sudden my intended colors changed. They started to blend and bind together in ways that I did not conceive. That's when the magic was realized. I was awe stuck. I wanted to replicate and find new patterns. The endless possibilities have resulted in my blending and remixing of so many conceivable patterns.

I realized that I like all of the new stuff that has been hitting the shops (fades, speckles, etc.), but give me a rich tonal yarn and I'm hooked. I dye out of my home in the Richmond Virginia area. I hope one day, soon to have a dye studio, but until then I will continue to dye in the City.
My tag line is ~ yarns raised in the Country and Dyed in the City. This literally came to me in a dream. I have always been a city girl. Raised in Chicago Illinois I travel the world and typically stay in the urban areas, but if I see a cow, alpaca, goat, or any other animal I'm drawn to them. If I see a bug I run for the car. Don't ask what I do if I see a snake. Hence the tag line.
I hope you will find joy when you utilize my yarn.

Happy Knitting, Crocheting, or whatever you do with the fiber

I spend the majority of my free time dyeing yarns. I only work in natural fibers. I love forming new colorways. I like the foundational colors best, but I do dye some of the new styles. My Etsy shop is to connect to those not able to attend events.
