Welcome to Urban Gypsea— my passion project!
My name is Kirat. I am a healthcare worker in a nursing home who is obsessed with bunnies and jewelry! Everything you see here is curated or handmade by me with beautiful gemstones wrapped in high quality gold filled and sterling silver metals. Our packaging is eco friendly (except for the tape-- we are working on that), metal scraps are recycled, and our gems our sourced as ethically as possible.

Can you make custom pieces of jewelry?
Most definitely! Just let us know what you are looking for and we will make your dream a reality!
My jewelry looks different from the photo.
Our genuine, high quality gemstones come straight from Mother Earth. Each stone is unique so there may be slight variation in sizes, shape or color. We do our best to ensure that what you see is what you will receive. If you would like to see an exact photo of your particular piece of jewelry, please let us know prior to shipping.
How do I care for sterling silver?
Keep sterling silver jewelry in a baggie and polish it frequently to ensure shine as sterling silver tends to tarnish with time due to exposure to the air.
What is gold filled jewelry?
Gold filled is the next best to 14k gold. It is less expensive that solid gold and will never tarnish. It is also hypoallergenic! Gold filled means solid gold is bonded to an inner core of brass (also hypoallergenic). You can clean gold filled jewelry with soapy water.
What if my jewelry breaks?
We're so sorry to hear that your jewelry needs repairs, but it must be because you love wearing it so much, right? Don't worry, we do free repairs during the first 6 months of purchase. After this we charge a small fee to cover our labor. Please send us a message!
(Note: Sometimes repairs need new parts to preserve the integrity of your piece. In this case there may be a small fee to cover the cost of materials.)
What is gold plated jewelry?
This is a layer of gold electroplated onto a base metal. We do have a few pieces in this option, but gold filled is a higher quality alternative to gold plating. Gold plated jewelry will tarnish eventually and may irritate your skin.
Can I wear my jewelry in the water?
Yes! Gold filled and sterling silver are waterproof metals and will not turn colors if they get wet. However, chemicals can damage your jewelry so please be mindful and take your jewelry off before heading to a swimming pool! Please note that jewelry with opals should not get wet.
Who covers shipping for repairs and returns?
The buyer is responsible for shipping for returns and repairs. Shipping is approximately $5 with the USPS.
What is Permanent Jewelry?
Permanent Jewelry, also known as forever or zap jewelry is the perfect way for you to celebrate a birthday, friendship, your self or your love. You start by choosing a solid gold or sterling silver chain. Then, once you have picked your charm(s) and the length… I zap it together creating an endless anklet or bracelet that you can wear for years to come! Please note— permanent jewelry is only available in person.
