A Journey to What I Love Most

I love wedding veils. I do. When I go into book shops I always have to browse the bridal magazine section, looking for new fabrics and trends in the upcoming wedding season. I watch old movies looking for inspiration from the glamour of yesteryear. I spend hours pouring over pictures of weddings of people I have never met, studying how the bride's veil draped, hung, blew in the breeze, fit into her hairstyle, and made her glow. I wake in the middle of the night, and reach for my sketch pad, to quickly draw the veil I saw in my dream.

A wedding veil is not just an accessory. It is the crowning piece of the bride's ensemble. It is the one piece that, when added, transforms a woman in a pretty white dress into a bride. It is small and versatile enough to be passed down in love to a best friend, a sister, a daughter, or even a grand daughter.

I love that veils are so versatile. One bride wants a vintage chic birdcage veil, while another dreams of a romantic cathedral veil with yards and yards of lace and a blusher to walk down the aisle. With creativity and imagination and attention to detail, very different veils can make anyone, from the modern, edgy, funky lady, to the classic, romantic girl, have that moment when they put their veil on and for the first time, feel like a bride.

That is the moment I work for. There are often teary eyes. My eyes frequently tear up as well, when I read emails from my customers telling me how they cried when they first tried on their veil.

I search long and hard for the finest materials, sourcing from all over the globe. I painstakingly work on each design, working and reworking until it is just right, and only then photograph it for selling. Then, when orders come in, I hand cut each veil individually for each bride. I welcome custom changes in length, color or design. Frequently I design custom veils from scratch for brides with a special vision. It is so important to me that each bride gets that moment, when she first tries on her veil, and again on her wedding day, when she suddenly feels like a bride.

Frequently asked questions
How can I tell how long I want my veil?

Find the length of the veil in the item's description. Cut a piece of ribbon or string to the given length of the veil. Hold one end of the ribbon to the back of your head, and let the other end trail behind you. Take a few steps forward to let the ribbon stretch out behind you. This will show how long the veil will be on you when you wear it. If it is not the length you would like, then adjust the length of your ribbon until it is as long as you would like your veil to be. Then measure your ribbon, and this will tell you how long you would like your veil.

How do I know if a veil will match the color of my dress? Do you send fabric samples?

Yes! I am happy to send fabric samples, at no charge, so you can compare them to your dress and insure a perfect match. Feel free to contact me and request samples. I will need your name and address to send them to you, along with the names of the veil or veils you are considering, and what colors you would like to see.
