About VAVAlingerie

Sales 736
On Etsy since 2014

Design .::. Philosophy

VAVA Lingerie is designed and sewn by Alyssa D. Woods on the Oregon Coast. Each piece is made to order using US produced organic cotton and/or surplus synthetic fabrics from the apparel industry’s waste stream.

I aim to make high quality, beautiful, comfortable lingerie while minimizing negative impact on people and the planet in the process. Each piece is made to order, which reduces waste, and also means that your pieces can be customized to best suit your preferences and your body. I consider VAVA to be more of a service than a product, and I’m happy to work with you to make sure you are 1000% satisfied with anything that you purchase from me. I believe that dissatisfaction with what we own is one of the driving forces behind overconsumption. By creating high quality, well fit pieces that are worth caring for, I get to do what I love and make my customers happy, and hopefully in some small way help reduce the impact of this industry at large.

Returns and exchange details
Ordering online can be tricky, and I know that bra fit is extremely important. If you feel that you should have ordered another size, send it back and we'll get you the right fit. Or, if the fit of VAVA bralettes just isn't for you, simply return it. Bralette exchanges and returns are welcome (custom orders excepted).

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the product, I cannot accept returns or exchanges on panties.

If you are ever dissatisfied with the quality of construction or materials of any VAVA item, please let me know & I will resolve the issue immediately.
Shipping
Shipping is USPS First Class, or USPS Priority if you choose to upgrade.

International orders are sent USPS First Class, and take on average 3-6 weeks from the time they are shipped to reach their destination, but can take longer depending on your location and your country's customs processing. Please allow for this time from when ordering.

If you would like to insure that your package arrives earlier, please select International Priority shipping, which ships to most counties in 6-10 business days.

Fibers & Sustainability:

Most of my materials are surplus fabrics, excess yardage bought up by middlemen called “jobbers” from larger manufacturers and mills at the end of their production cycle. This is actually a really common way for small brands and independent designers to source materials, because they can’t meet the production minimums of large fabric mills. For me, this means the opportunity to source some of the best laces on the market despite our size, and to make sure those materials are sewn into something beautiful instead of winding up in a landfill.

However, there is no “sustainable” way to produce clothing on the scale that we have been. Above all, my commitment to sustainability is expressed in my commitment to quality. I aim to make pieces you want to wear everyday, and that are up to the challenge. I aim to contribute something of substance, to help you build a wardrobe of quality, not quantity.
