Announcement   Happy Summer folks! Enjoy my one of a kind jewelry, hair accessories and ornaments made from impressions of leaves and nature in a lightweight terracotta clay. Through a process I call Neo-Guilding, I antique the pieces in metallic and bright colors and seal them with an acrylic finish. There is nothing else quite like it on Etsy. A very unique process I hope you enjoy because I enjoy making it for you! I have also included my jewelry boxes that are great gift boxes and jewelry holders for all your accessories.

Love them! Perfect accent for my bridesmaids and flower girl for my fall-themed wedding and cannot wait to give these to them. And I know that I will be wearing my own pair outside of the wedding with several outfits that they will go nicely with. :) Thank you so much!

About

The natural world around me inspires me daily to create beautiful things.

Creating beauty is my life's work. I love nature and the natural form and have always strove to re-create it with 2 and 3 dimensional materials. This is how I communicate with the world and provide the public a means to connect with the natural world as well.

Growing up I worked with my mother silversmithing. Her work was very naturalistic. In my twenties, I began painting landscapes and photo realistic depictions of animals. But as an adult I did not have the capital to buy the equipment necessary for the metal work process.

So, I began by making bead jewelry which soon morphed into making jewelry boxes and hair accessories from this great clay I discovered at Michael's (yes, Michael's). This clay could easily be worked in a small space (my studio area is very small these days). And, I found a way to imitate the metal I loved through a process I invented of antiquing the clay. This gives it the illusion of being metal without all the cutting, filling, and shining required to get metal to conform to your ideas.

Professionally, I started out by doing numerous craft shows and soon discovered Etsy as a means to promote and sell my work. In addition, I have succesfully sold my jewelry and hair accessories through a number of stores in the Bellingham area. I still do a few shows a year which is always great way to meet new people, crafters and get great ideas. I hope one day that my designs will spread throughout the world sharing a connection with nature that everyone needs to make their world a little brighter and more beautiful.

Thank you for visiting my shop. Please feel free to start up a conversation. After many years of crafting and 30 years as an artist it is always good to hear feedback, keeps me on my toes. It is important to note, my one of a kind items are a little different and unique. Being inspired by nature they are difficult to copy . I can do similar copies but not the same exact thing. So, if you like something snatch it up. If it is not quite right, I can work something to your specifications. I can always guarantee it will be unique.
