Watercolor Artist ... "Flowers, Colors, Shapes Inspire Me"
I am a self-taught watercolorist with a passion for painting flowers and still life.
To quote Jeff Goins, "The job of an artist is to offer a sanctuary of beauty to an ugly world." That is the "Why?" to my story as an artist. I want to create beautiful artworks that offer respite from the difficulties of life and momentarily lifts your spirit.
I invite you to take a few moments to gaze upon nature's vast array of colors and shapes that fuel my creativity and inspire my paintings.
All artwork is copyrighted and may only be used with express written permission from me, the artist.
To quote Auguste Rodin, "The artist is the confidant of nature, flowers carry on dialogues with (her) him through the graceful bending of their stems and the harmoniously tinted nuances of their blossoms. Every flower has a cordial word which nature directs towards (her) him."
I have spent the majority of my life working and living in three of the largest cities in the United States. Concrete, pavement, brick, brownstone, steel, over-crowded streets, mass transit and grid-lock was the norm.
Flowers gave me release from stress after my daily commute to work. At the start of each workweek, I bought myself a large bouquet of flowers to place in a vase on my desk at the office. Glancing at them during the day and smelling their floral scent was a delight.
Now that I am retired from my 9 to 5, I find joy and fulfillment painting flowers and sharing their beauty with other flower lovers.
To quote Terri Guillemets, "A flower's appeal is in its contradictions — so delicate in form yet strong in fragrance, so small in size yet big in beauty, so short in life yet long on effect."
