VanityJewelBox's Shop Announcement

In 1984 I wanted to stay home with my children. I had been collecting music box charms since the 70's and they were no longer being sold. I wanted more so I began experimenting to find the best way to recreate them. For me, it's all about the music and making available songs that trigger a specific memory or celebrate a special event. I will ship overseas to select countries if you contact me in advance and we can work out the shipping details. I have over one hundred and fifty song titles available.

On My YouTube channel you will see short videos of my song movements playing, so please page through them if you are looking for a particular song or send me an email.

My YouTube Channel is at the URL below. Some songs may be out of stock or on hold for a special order. Not every song written was produced in a miniature size movement. A copyright and license had to be obtained by the manufacturer and not every artist authorized them. The song had to be widely popular in order for a large number of them to be made. I have worked hard for a long time so I can offer as many songs as possible so you can have the greatest selection possible in miniature movements. Occasionally I am able to buy out inventory from a shop that's closing or find a supply of miniature movements not available from mainstream suppliers, so it's always worth the time to ask.

Be sure to click on the 'Load More' button at the bottom of the channel page in order to view them all.

Never overwind a music box. Turn the key clockwise two to three turns. Always let the music box unwind completely before storage to avoid keeping stress on the mainspring. Store music boxe pendants in an area away from any humidity. Keeping them in tiny plastic storage bags that you have flattened to remove excess air will keep them tarnish free and in new operating condition. I send them to you in a resealable bag with anti-tarnish and anti-humidity paks. Avoid exposing them to water or chemicals. All movements I sell are lubricated before shipment with oil made especially for music box movements. Never apply anything like WD40 or other commercially sold lubricants to your music box movement. Avoid handling or touching the tines or cylinder of the music box movement. Natural oils from your skin can cause corrosion over time to the delicate metal. Each tine of the comb is tuned to produce a single note, handling can cause the note to become 'out of tune'.

I ship the lockets in plastic resealable bags with an anti-tarnish strip and anti-humidity pak inside. Since all silver will eventually tarnish, I felt this would give my customers more peace of mind and keep them from needing cleaning for a lot longer time. My research on anti-tarnish finishes indicate that they crack and yellow over time, so I think this is a much better solution to keeping your fine jewelry beautiful. As a natural material, silver reacts with its environment, especially the chemicals in the air. However, silver jewelry that is frequently worn rarely has tarnish problems. When tarnish is not yet present, or when it's just beginning to develop, simply wash your silver chain in warm (not hot) water with a gentle, phosphate-free detergent. Store silver jewelry away from other metal jewelry to avoid scratches. Storing silver jewelry in the included plastic zipped bag will keep the air out and slow tarnishing. Silver is a soft metal so handle with care to avoid scratching and bending. Avoid using silver dips for pieces with gemstones, especially Turquoise or Lapis as they are porous and will absorb the cleaner. This will lead to quickly deteriorating the stone. Plain white toothpaste can be used in place of silver paste for cleaning stones. Wiping your silver jewelry after each use with a soft cloth will keep it shinier longer.

I hope you enjoy my lockets as much as I enjoy making them. I love being able to make something that reminds my customers of a special date or event, or just one 'special' summer in their lives.
