The veil creates the magic! We carry veils, headpieces, and accessories, both new and vintage for the bride and bridal party.

Shortly after finishing design school at FIDM I created a bridal veil for a friend. From that first wedding I got three more clients! I took it as a sign from the universe and so my bridal veil business began. I later went on to create bridal veils for Nicole Miller Bridal Boutique in West Hollywood and J.Crew Bridal at The Grove in Los Angeles.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS-

1. What style veil should I order?

Don’t worry we are here to help!
Do be open to looking at a variety of styles. Send us a picture of your dress and tell us a bit about your wedding vision and venue. We’ll be delighted to make a few suggestions to get you started.

2. How far in advance should I order my veil?

All of the veils are handmade to order. Such attention to detail takes time, so it is important that you contact us as far as possible in advance of your wedding date. For classic cut edge veils 3-4 weeks is usually enough time.  For more elaborate lace edged veils about 12-14 weeks.

3. What does 'made to order' mean?

'Made to order' means that I will start making a design once an order is received.  As all of my designs are made entirely by hand and just by me, my production time can vary depending on the style ordered. Details of expected production time are detailed on each product listing. But, if you have any questions or need an item urgently, please contact me before placing your order. A rush fee may apply.

4. What is Bridal Illusion Tulle?

Tulle / Bridal Illusion is the most popular veil material.
Illusion tulle that is made in the USA is the best quality. Tulle is semi-transparent and weightless. It is the most sheer option and will allow all the lovely details of your gown design will show through .

5. Do you have a shop or studio I can visit?

You are more than welcome to make an appointment to visit my studio in Los Angeles. It's a lovely, intimate space where you can try on as many pieces as you'd like as well as have a chat about your ideas and requirements – feel free to bring you gown to try on with all the veils and headpieces.To book an appointment, please email: julieharrisdesigns [!at] gmail.com

6. What is a blusher?

The blusher is the shorter layer on the veil designed to be worn over the face as you walk down the aisle .

7. What is a drop veil?

A drop veil is single piece of tulle cut on the shape of a circle or oval and . The comb or veil pins are attached about 30 or more inches back from the edge so the shorter front portion ‘drops’ over the face creating a blusher. Drop veils lay flat on top of your head with no gathering.

8. What does "gathering “ mean?

Many veil styles have tulle that is gathered or shirred together to create a small amount of volume at the top where it is attached at the comb.

9. Should I iron my veil after it arrives?

Definitely not!
Please use the enclosed veil clip to hang your beautiful veil and allow any creases to fall out naturally. Handle your veil gently , it is very delicate . Do not clip directly onto the delicate tulle. The veil may be steamed either professionally or with a hand held steamer.

10. I'm still not quite sure what I want or what might suit me?

Don't worry if you don't know exactly what you're after. We can start by having a chat over the phone or by email to talk about things .

VEIL REFUND/ EXCHANGE POLICY INFO:

If you are at all unsatisfied with your item please contact me right away (2-3 days) as most issues are easily resolved and I want my valued customers to be happy.
NO REFUNDS, EXCHANGES ONLY.
The customer pays return postage fees.
We can only accept the exchange of items in their original condition: unworn, unwashed, undamaged, clean, and free of oil, lint ,hair and perfume odors.
Items must be in its original packaging, neatly folded -not rolled or scrunched!
All tags attached must be attached.
We reserve the right to refuse any returns that do not meet these conditions.

Custom veils and accessories are non-returnable or exchangeable.

ORDER CANCELLATION / DEPOSIT RETURN POLICY:
If you change your mind about your veil order you must send notification within 3 days of placing the order to receive a full refund.
After the 3 day period your deposit refund is subject to the 35% restocking fee .

STANDARD STOCK CUT EDGE VEIL ITEMS ONLY:
I will gladly do an exchange if the item is defective but I must be notified within 2-3 days of receiving the item.

Made to Order Veils are Non-Refundable.

Our hope is that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. If you aren’t, please contact us within 3 days of order arrival, to arrange an exchange.

International shipping rates range from $28 -$75 (approx. ) depending on destination.
Delivery times can vary from 10 days to 5 weeks.

Your item should arrive about 3-4 business days after shipped and includes delivery confirmation and a tracking number.

Your tracking number will be provided by email.

USPS Express 'overnight' ships in 24-48 hours depending on where the item ships to. There is a drop by PO time as well for express shipping (1pm Pacific Standard time). This does not include production time.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
International orders are shipped USPS First Class and will take 10 days to 1 month and sometimes longer. Sometimes items get stuck at customs or are held up due to storms etc. I unfortunately cannot track the item after It leaves the US. Please do contact me if your item has not arrived within two weeks. Shipping rates posted below are subject to change with USPS rates.
Shipping times are not guaranteed due to hold ups in customs, storms, etc. If you need your item really fast it is sometimes best to ship via a different carrier (FED EX or UPS) because it doesn't leave their hands and typically goes thru customs faster. It's best to convo me with your shipping address and need by date if you need your item really soon.
