Announcement    I specialize in creating artisan quality handmade wax seals, custom wax stamps and supplies. I make my waxes in small batches to ensure color and quality.

I have worked with wax seals for over 25 years and with that comes a lot of experience. Not all waxes are created equal and I have put in a lot of research so you don't have to. I am passionate about having complete quality control over every single seal and will not send you one that I feel is less than perfect. A seal is the first impression a wedding or birthday party invitation offers. It sets the tone for what is to follow, and I take that kind of responsibility seriously. It is a small, yet important detail. Planning a wedding is already stressful enough.

I love custom orders and working one on one with clients. If you have an idea and would like it made into a reality, please contact me and we can chat about it.

Business hours vary, but I tend to take off Sunday completely.

About

I am not a large company and I do not mass produce items.

From a young age I have always been interested in journals. Back then it was called a diary and I wrote in mine almost every single day. The first one I was given had pink ballet shoes on the cover and "My Diary" written in pink. While that didn't really fit my personality, I loved the idea of having a lock on it. I thought that lock was Fort Knox.

Over the years I have collected a rather large collection of notebooks and journals. I noticed my local stores started carrying less and less of different types of journals. What they did carry was low quality, usually spiral bound and wide ruled paper. At that point, I had never made a book, but I wanted to learn. I was in the middle of a box store aisle when I had my breakdown / revelation.

My first few journals were sad ones. It took me three days to create my very first one. I had no tools except an awl I borrowed from my dad which I swear was the original one ever made. When I was done, I was proud of my accomplishment and instantly was hooked on creating books. Over the next two years I must have made at least a couple hundred books trying to perfect my craft.

I am not a large company and I do not mass produce items. What I can offer is old fashioned customer service with attention to detail. I care about what goes into my books and I make them to last generations. I offer a quality product that you can't find in box stores. I genuinely care about each item I send out to its new forever home and I love to hear stories back from clients who use my products.

Frequently asked questions
Do you do rush orders?

Most of the time, yes. It depends on many factors. Wax color, if I need to paint them, and quantity.

What is the difference between real wax and faux wax seals?

Price is the first difference. Faux wax is cheaper. It is a plastic material or sometimes colored hot glue. It looks and feels like plastic and I can pick out a faux seal in a picture without ever touching it.

Real wax is made from natural materials. It has a smooth texture and feels waxy and organic. There is no substitute for the real deal. I will not use anything else in my shop. It is more expensive, but the quality is worth it.

Can I mail the seals? Even if they're wax?

I would highly recommend asking for a hand cancel or sorting so that the seal does not go through the machines at the post office. The wax is flexible and designed to do so, as are the adhesives, but to be on the safe side to make absolutely certain, I would advise against going through the machines.

Or if you would like to keep your envelope pristine, it is very common to put the envelope with the wax seal inside a larger envelope. This way it keeps the inside clean and free from debris that can be picked up during the mailing process and it protects the wax seal.

How does it work? How do I apply the seal?

On the back of the seal there is a little piece of yellow paper. Peel that off and it will reveal the adhesive. Use it as you would any sticker. Simply apply it to your desired surface and it will stay.

What do the wax colors look like?

There are natural variations in the wax seal colors. There are also differences on each computer monitor and phone screen. It will not be an exact match, but I do try and make sure it is as close as possible. If you have any questions about specific colors, please message me and I will do my best to answer them.

Certain seals work better with some colors. If I pour the wax and I notice that it doesn't look quite right, I will message you. For example, a delicate letter seal does not show up well with the bordeaux wax. But, if I add a gold highlight it does. My number one priority is to make sure you are happy and I will go the extra step to make sure that happens.
