THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME
The name Venus Retro is very special. In astrology, when a planet is in retrograde motion, it is a time for looking back, reviewing and renewing the old. And Venus, well she is all about beauty and love and fashion! So Venus retrograde is a time for looking back to the beauty of vintage and re-loving it. Venus was retrograde when I was born, so I live and breathe loving the old and I am also an astrologer. Venus Retro was the only thing I could call this shop!
WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL
When I was a little girl, there were 2 elderly sisters that lived down the street. They used to be milliners in San Francisco in their younger days. I was mesmerized by their stories and drawings. (They also gave out wallpaper samples on Halloween... but that's another story.) That was the beginning of my love for vintage fashion... especially hats!
