Beautiful necklace. I was so happy that Sara was able to change the chain as I requested! These pieces of jewelery are great gift ideas.
Taming of the rings
I first was introduced to jewelry making in college by a friend's mom. She made and sold jewelry and I was amazed at what she could make and how relatively simple it looked to make. Creativity comes naturally and this art spoke to me. I thought, wow, I could make jewelry! I had a hard time finding specific styles that I enjoyed wearing and what better way to have that style than to make it myself!?
She showed me how and after that it became a creative love affair. Then in 2010 I stumbled upon a website on how to make chainmaille jewelry. I've always marveled at chainmaille I've seen in movies - mostly chainmaille in the form of armor such as in Lord of the Rings. However, I found out I could make beautiful bracelets, earrings and necklaces using chainmaille weaves. Although chainmaille was more of a unique offering where a small population wore it, it has now become increasing popular with chaimmaille making supplies now found at local craft stores. Celebrities are even seen wearing it.
I love the intricacy of chainmaille. There is nothing more rewarding than taking, say, 500 single rings and weaving them into a beautiful bracelet.
Now I focus most of my jewelry making on chainmaille. I'm currently branching out into different styles of weaves and playing around with incorporating beads and other fun items into the designs. I have decided recently to begin sharing my art with others. Friends and family purchase my pieces and when I found Etsy, I knew I had to open a shop.
My taming of the rings journey is far from over but it's an adventure none the less. Thanks for joining me in it!

Additional policies and FAQs
~To preserve your chainmaille (and prevent tarnishing of the rings which can dull the piece and cause black marks on your skin), avoid getting the jewelry wet or wearing lotion. If it does get wet, thoroughly dry it off.
