Gyan Devi began working with plants when she was 12. At the time, her girlfriends were starting to use beauty products but she discovered everything on the market had dyes, chemicals, and fragrances that were anything but "natural." These products caused neurological issues, psoriasis flares, and blemishes. So Gyan started making skincare products she could actually use that would nourish her skin. In her mother’s kitchen, she experimented with fruits and grains, honey and clays, flowers and herbs. She read old herbals and discovered recipes dating back 600 years. She learned the traditional wise woman ways of preserving plants and ethical harvesting done in harmony with the lunar cycle.

Understanding the power of plant medicines, Gyan completed an herbal apprenticeship with Rosemary Gladstar in 1993. She continued her herbal studies with Juliette de Biaracli Levy and other gifted Master Herbalists for many years. She became captivated by essential oils and trained in aromatherapy with Jeanne Rose.

Gyan launched Body Botanicals, LLC in Stowe, Vermont as a retail store. She's been using her own beauty products for over forty years, and, as you can see from her photo, her skincare line really works. Now, for the first time, you can buy it on Etsy.
