VermontPaddleCompany is taking a short break

Loading

Note from shop owner Thanks for taking a look at Vemont Paddle Co. We are taking a well deserved break this summer while we work on products for the fall, rebuild inventory, and put our shop back together following a freak lightning strike and house fire this spring. You can still contact us at vermontpaddlecompany [!at] gmail.com, however we will be out of the office for the foreseeable future.

Wood is a renewable resource.

Well managed forest stands are one of our most useful and productive natural resources. Not only does managed forest land produce oxygen, consume CO2, promote wildlife habitat, reduce erosion and promote water quality.... It's durned pretty! At Vermont Paddle Co. we work hard to bring you beautifully crafted, sustainable products that are elegant, traditional, durable, and light on the earth. Why do we do that?

Because wood is good. For the planet, for your conscience, and even for those seeing orbs you call eyeballs. Not only are our wood products organic, beautiful and rustic, but they are also good for the planet. All of our products are crafted using found, scavenged, reclaimed or sustainably harvested wood from right here in Vermont. We use minimal fossil fuels to produce and finish our work. This means that your new wooden piece does not contribute immensely to massive clear cutting of woodlands in East Undershoe, fracking the cuss out of some poor farm town in Middle Cornville, or damaging vulnerable wildlife species right in your own proverbial backyard.

We produce sustainable and long lasting products from elegant renewable wood because while you're not going to go out and replace your entire kitchen with wooden utensils, or build yourself some solar powered wooden SmurtCur(patent pending?)... It's nice to have at least one beautiful hand carved wooden spoon in your cooking arsenal and nothing beats the feeling of dipping a hand made wooden paddle into a clear pristine lake in the early morning hours.

We love trees. We love timber products. We love tradition and innovation.
