About

Farmhouse style spoons and kitchen utensils from our hands to yours. Made one at a time from local hardwoods.

Vermont Spoon is a collaboration between Jeff and Ellen Falsgraf. Over the past 40 years Jeff and Ellen have combined their talents of fine arts, photo-styling, baking, design and wood carving in numerous projects.

Carving wooden spoons is the happy result of a lifetime of discovery. Both Jeff and Ellen are involved in every aspect of creating their spoons. Ellen has a knack for using a carving axe, while Jeff has years of experience using hand chisels and fine wood working techniques.

We have found that while using our handmade spoons and utensils in the kitchen we are more engaged with the art of creating and eating our meals. For us our spoons bring more consideration and attention to the small joys of daily life, and hope they do the same for you.

Likes hiking and the mountains. Loves to read history and loves to work with wood. Jeff has been designing art museum shows and hanging artwork for many years. He can hang anything!

I love living in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The lifestyle here suits me. There is so much unspoiled beauty. One of the things we've done on our property is to plant willow trees along the swampy edge, and it has turned into a haven for birds.

Frequently asked questions
Gift wrapping and packaging

Natural, recyclable packaging is very important to us. We send the spoons wrapped in natural colored acid-free tissue paper with a Vermont Spoon logo tag tied with baker's twine and how to care for your spoon printed on the reverse side. Box filler is natural crinkle cut paper shred and packed in a brown/white cardboard box. If you would like gift wrapping services, please convo Ellen.

Care instructions

All spoons arrive tied with a logo tag and care instructions for wooden spoons on the back. Care instructions are as follows: wash by hand with mild soap and water, then dry with a soft cloth. Never leave your spoon in standing water.

Custom and personalized orders

Sorry, we no longer do custom orders, but ask us what we have in the shop- it might just not be listed yet. We can also add holes to most spoons to make colander/ strainer spoons.
