Boy raised by wolves makes jewelry out of found treasures!

Azro is a young boy learning about his world. He spends tons of time outdoors checking things out, learning, asking questions. This shop is part of how he will earn his money to spend, save and give to charities.

Azro is an 8 year old boy practically raised by wolves. He loves to be outdoors and fills his pockets with sparkling colorful treasures all day. We've decided to turn some of these finds into jewelry as part of a homeschooling adventure. ENJOY!

Vermonts Own Jewelry is a family business. We live on a gentle hill in the middle of the state with access to all sorts of magical places outdoors. Azro is 8 and loves to collect treasures. When a rock, shell or glass catches his eye, into his pocket it goes. Azro and his dad made a rock tumbler out of a bucket, bolts, tuna cans and a weed-wacker bearing so it will spin. This tumbler uses our stream for water power to turn it right out there in the stream. Mostly what you see here is as is, the way it was found. But sometimes we tumble the glass, especially when he collects it as jagged chards!

Serpentine is one of our favorite finds. A no longer active talc mine is a few miles away from our house. Azro and his dad have permission to go there and collect pieces of serpentine, a by-product of the talc. The serpentine comes out of the earth in jaggedy chards so it goes into the tumbler. When you see the pieces in real life they shimmer and sparkle like a shell or curly wood, moving and changing as you change your angle of view or the light. Azro says it is MAGIC!

Azro designs the jewelry piecing things together, choosing wire and beads. He is learning the metal work but for now mama takes care of that so the findings are solid and secure for the long run.

If you like treasures from the earth, Vermont is heaven. THanks for visiting our store. If you have any questions, just give us a message and we'll get right back to you:)

Peace love and magical treasures!
