Announcement   We are now Hewn & Forged! After 6 years running under the name Vetrina del Vino, we thought it would be a good idea to have a more inclusive name for all of the products we make. We started back in 2011 making a few wine racks and have since added copper/tin engravings and now we are shipping mantels all over the US. We love what we are doing and excited about our journey, thank you for being a part of it!

Cheers,
Tom & Michael

About

2 Friends who turned a hobby business into something more....

Welcome to Hewn & Forged, formerly Vetrina Del Vino, where inspiration and distinction collide to create functional pieces of art.

Vetrina del Vino, "Showcase the Wine" in Italian, was born in March of 2011. Since then we have added additional products and thought it would be a good idea to have a more inclusive name to the products that we make. Hewn & Forged was born in early 2017 to accomplish this.

History...
Tom and Michael met in high school where they were involved in many sports and activities together. Since then they have carried their friendship on through life and started a new adventure that would allow them to stretch our creative muscles as well spend time together (with their wives knowing it's "business" vs. pleasure). In reality, both of their wives know it's a pretty even mix but it sounds better that they need to head out on a Friday night to "work."

Where did the idea for the business come from?
Michael was finishing up a home addition on his house when he realized he had a small wall with nothing on it in his dining room. Given the nature of their Italian decor, combined with Michael's handy knowledge, he crafted the first generation vertical wine rack. His idea was to create a functional piece of decor that would also serve as a piece of art. Mission accomplished! Tom's wife saw the wine rack and immediately fell in love, aka - Tom had to make one for her. Eventually friends saw the finished piece and inquired on where to get one. After a few months of tossing the idea around, a lunch meeting was set and a business was born. Shortly after opening their virtual doors, they introduced personalized framed copper engravings as well as a few other decor items.

Shipping
We ship all orders by FedEx Ground and USPS depending on which is quicker to your location and are generally a 2-4 day delivery (business days and depending on your location) except for shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, and International shipments. Tracking numbers will be provided after packages are dropped-off.

International shipments are "sent" as merchandise and if your country charges duties/tax on the item, the buyer is responsible for them. This is standard procedure in international shipping and we cannot pay for, or know what they may be until the product in checked in at customs of the recipients country.

We generally ship our orders within 7-10 days of payment. Most of the time depends on whether or not the order is custom (which we do enjoy creating!). In the event you need your shipment sooner, please contact us and we will do our best to meet your deadline.

If you are shipping as a gift, please let us know. We welcome the addition of personal notes that would accompany your items.
Refunds and Exchanges
If there is a problem with your order, message us and will work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as we can.
Additional policies and FAQs
We cannot guarantee that additional orders will match your current items from us as each piece of wood takes the stain differently. If you provide us photos, we will do our best to match.

Q: Is it necessary to hit a stud when hanging the wine rack?
A: Naturally, hitting a stud is the best possible solution, however we include heavy duty drywall anchors that support the weight of a rack filled with full bottles of wine. Don't believe us?? Check out the answer to the next question.

Q: Do the wine racks really hold full bottles of wine?
A: Yes, in fact we had Tom hang from a drywall anchor (which we provide) mounted rack and it held! Needless to say, he weighs more than 20 full bottles of wine...
