About

Who is Vic Von Pip?

~~ OUTLOOK IN LIFE:
I feed my craft the way I feed my body and spirit: Fresh, organic foods are better than processed, fast foods. God's creations inspire me.
In a stark contrast pesticides/tannin used in processing leather are fatal to our environment. I recycle. I dare to compare. I make the kindest choices.

~~ INNOVATION:
I find room for better quality & design in most handbags out there. Sometimes a pleasingly looking bag is too heavy, or floppy, or too plain inside. I can change these things!
I enjoy the extra time it takes me to develop superior aesthetic & functional designs.

~~ QUALITY:
I am privileged to live in a place where I can easily hunt for top-of-the-line materials to create exclusive, rare items.
I cater to quality and individuality, not to convenience & price. Actually, my prices are very reasonable when compared to other high-end bags, especially when we consider that it takes me at least 2 days of 8 hours to totally make one bag... after the pattern is done... before packing & shipping time!

~~ DESIGN:
Most people w/basic sewing skills can zip up a bag but my handbags stand out because I observe our relationship with our bags:
- what goes in it, how it comes out;
- how we separate items;
- where are we going, what statements it makes about us.
- our body curves, our arm movements, the angle our hands reaching into the pockets.
- how private (or paranoid) does the environment makes us feel about our possessions.

~~ AUTHENTICITY:
Great artists inspire me, but I enjoy cutting my own patterns, sewing them up, embroidering, and packaging ALL the bags I make, personally.
Being a perfectionist, after designing the pilot piece, it takes me days to make the first bag.
I value the opinion of past clients and friends; I take the new design out to test how it feels in the real world.

~~ MATERIALS:
Fibers are more beautiful than leather or plastic.
When possible, I use naturally dyed fibers.
- Instead of ending up in a dump, even the smallest fabric samples can find their way into one of my beautiful items.
- There are thousands of variations that can be obtained without the cruelty of killing thousands of exotic animals.
- Fabrics are durable, easier to maintain clean, free of bacteria and fungi, and most are bio-degradable.

~~ THE CREATIVE JUICE:
Ecstasy flows when an idea emerges, when I first look at my bag.
My cup is never empty, yet I am always thirsty. My work is my skin.
I blind date my materials: listen, touch hands, and make mental notes.

~~ FAVORITE COLOR:
Beige is my favorite because it welcomes all others. Like beautiful bodies, it wear all colors well.

~~ FAVORITE MATERIAL:
My favorite material is Ultra Suede: very resistant, soft to touch, elegant, washable, but not an animal byproduct.

~~ FAVORITE DESIGN:
My favorite design is the one I’ve just nurtured.
Working uninterruptedly fills me with overflowi
My attitude towards my work is kind >> no right, no wrong, only transformational choices<< deviations can bring out exquisite features.
The biggest challenge is matching the bags inside/out to future owners-to-be.
I judge the pilot piece when I see a person carrying my bag.

~~ CLIENTS:
Come be my friend, for I have been talking to myself for too long!
I want to hear HOW YOU FEEL about your life, your courage, your relationship - everything you want to share is welcomed!

~~ THE NAME OF THE SHOP:
The tale of my business name started when a young friend wanted to buy different handbags for her baby store.

~~ THE VON PIPPENPUPPENS:
This shop name was inspired by the tale of a young character I named Victorien, who was raised in an orphanage since she was a small baby baboon. (I invented her existence, OK.)
She had always expressed an intuitive good taste, and a genuine desire to help others.

According to the baroness, Vic was a princess from a Kingdom far beyond the vast expansion known as The Opal Plateau of Perpetual Dusk Winds.
The stork bag ripped open on her maiden trip to the kingdom, causing the baby to fall over the Colorful Cotton Trees, where she was found by the orphanage owner while looking for her White Cotton Kittens.
Once informed of the incident, Vic bravely crossed the Opal Plateau, and returned to the Kingdom of The Pippenpuppens, where she was welcomed by her royal family.
The princess promised to work hard never to let accidents such as hers happen to babies anymore.
Since then she never stopped designing baby bags that would never rip open on a working stork.
