About

Victorian Rose Prints: Quality Reproduction Rose and Flower Prints

I've always said that antique art has curb appeal. There's just something about the old Victorian artwork that draws one nearer for a closer inspection. Perhaps its the color layers in a chromolithograph, or the superb artwork execution of the old painters. Either way, once you own gorgeous artwork, you almost can't help yourself from wanting yet even more!

I am Nancy Hall, the owner and website manager of Victorian Rose Prints. Most of my career was spent in telecommunications, and I'd travel the U.S. for Engineering training. At each stop, I'd scour the antique stores for art. This was long before the internet, so hunting or picking was quite a chore indeed.

During this time, I constantly researched the French Victorian artist, Paul de Longpre. He was my hobby for 20 years. There was something about his work that was magnetic. I'd prowl every library's antique book section to see what I could glean about his life, since there was no book written about him yet. After a time, his life pattern emerged. I was also finishing up my MBA, and one law paper entailed an outline very similar to a book. So, armed with the life discoveries on Paul de Longpre, and an educational insight, I decided I was ready to write the story of this great man's life. In 2001, I partnered with The Irvine Museum and published "The Life & Art of Paul de Longpre" book. It was a culmination of pertinent research, and now Paul de Longpre is a very well known and a highly sought-after artist.

While working on the book, I decided to put several prints on the internet as a "hook"; that is, as an attempt to bring in folks who might contribute to the book. The response was overwhelming. I began to publish other Victorian artists works, such as Catherine Klein. Over time, I added prints from antique paintings in my personal collection, as well as having artists paint for me.

I migrated from Ebay to Etsy several years ago. I was one of the original Ebay sellers, and my old Ebay site had over 10,000 feedbacks. I have literally sold tens of thousands of prints and original artworks since I began selling in 1970. What began as a hobby and research pursuit turned into a business. While many art purveyors have folded due to the recession, my business is a survivor, perhaps because I offer prints that the other firms do not have. In other words, I have my own personal stock, and don't rely upon others.

I am now retired in the Pacific Northwest. Although the business takes time, I enjoy fly fishing and flea markets whenever I can. I also sell original antique artwork on my Ruby Lane website at www.rubylane.com/shop/victorianroseprints.

Well now, it's time to shop! Keep in mind, I do rotate my Etsy prints. I'm always adding something new, as well as Seasonal prints, so do check back from time to time. Victorian Rose Prints has been in business since the 1970's, and prints are vintage, dating to pre-1995. Many of our prints were taken from antique prints and paintings in our personal collection, and most have a derivative copyright status.

Shipping
We ship our unframed prints First Class Mail to ensure your items arrive quickly, and ALL parcels are tracked with pickup and delivery confirmation. Prints are rolled carefully in tissue, and placed within a hard mailing tube for a safe journey. We never send prints flat, as the postal machinery always seem to damage them. Insurance is optional, but recommended (please request), as we cannot be responsible for uninsured parcels once they leave our capable hands. We ship the same day or the day after your payment clears.

Framed prints are boxed for safety, with insurance, and most are sent via FedEx, as they seem to be the least expensive carrier. FedEx does NOT deliver to P. O. Boxes, we must have an alternate address.
Refunds and Exchanges
To ensure all of our customers receive fresh, unhandled prints, all sales are final. If you do receive an insured, damaged parcel, the insurance claim will be expedited. Please keep all the packing materials until the claim is settled.
Additional policies and FAQs
Wholesale orders are welcome, but let's talk about it first! Usually we ask that you order at least 10 prints for the wholesale rate and can place a special ad rate just for you.
