About

Vida Muerte Art: These are a few of my favorite things.

Vida. Muerte. Art.

VIDA is the Spanish word for "life." Remember "Livin' la Vida Loca" by Ricky Martin? Yah, good times.

MUERTE means "death." *waiving fingers* OooOoo, scary, right?

ART is everything in between. Okay, that sounds a bit pretentious, but for realsies yo, it's true. Art gives people like me a forum to get out all of our issues regarding life & death. Me don't talk so good sometimes.

WHAT IS ALL OF THIS
I make things that I would wear. A lot of it is actually based on outfits I've worn for the Day of the Dead celebration at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday where family and friends gather to celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed. Families will visit the graves with gifts, and altars are built honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed.

If you have any questions about any of the items or about the world in general, feel free to message me.

My jewelry, photography, and art are heavily influenced by my Mexican & Native American heritage, as well as my angsty youth as a Goth kid. I love Dia de los Muertos, Gothic culture, Halloween, all things creepy, & vintage and pin-up styles.
