About

Thank you for visiting my shop. As a knitter myself I understand the joy of using beautiful hand dyed yarns and the endless creative possibilities that come wrapped in that perfect skein.

I'm an experienced hand dyer and only use high quality fibres, materials and professional techniques to create my yarns. I am also a proud advocate for British wool.

Situated on the North Devon coast, the fishing village of Appledore (my home town) is where I take much of my inspiration; from the endless beaches and coastline to the colourful characters, nightlife, art and music scene.

Appledore is a village steeped in history. Legend has it that in the year 878, Viking ships carrying 1200 Viking soldiers landed on its shores and, led by their leader King Hubba battled with the Saxons. After a bloody battle in which 800 men we killed, the Vikings were defeated and King Hubba's body buried under the historic 'Hubba Stone'. It is said that some of today's villagers (maybe including myself) still possess Viking blood!

Shipping
Ready to ship items are shipped within 3 business days of receiving your payment.

Custom orders and 'Dyed to order' items are shipped within 2-3 weeks of receiving your order.

Please note - if a 'ready to ship' item is ordered alongside a 'dyed to order' item, it will ship at the same time as the 'dyed to order' item (within 2-3 weeks) If you would like the 'ready to ship' item shipped sooner, please ensure you order it separately.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding shipping please contact me BEFORE placing your order.

All UK orders will be sent via Royal Mail First Class and normally arrive the next working day.

INTERNATIONAL BUYERS PLEASE NOTE:
You are responsible for all import fees, duties, VAT or any other inbound customs tax and this is not included in my prices. I will not declare your parcel as a gift (even if you mark the order as being a gift).

Orders from outside of the UK will be sent via Royal Mail International Standard Delivery. Please note that this is a non-trackable service (as tracked shipping is very expensive here in the UK and does not come as standard).

If you require tracked shipping, please contact me before ordering so we can arrange payment of additional shipping costs.

EU customers can expect delivery within 3-7 days.

Customers outside the EU - please expect 7-21 days for delivery. Please also be aware that, although it doesn't happen often, your order could potentially be held with customs for 6-8 weeks or longer.

Please check your address before checking out! - I will ship to the shipping address given via Etsy. Please make sure that this is the address you would like your item shipped to and that it is correct. I will not be held responsible for an item arriving at an incorrect, non-valid or non-current address.
Additional policies and FAQs
Please be aware that whilst I have made every attempt to display the colour of the yarn as accurately as possible, monitor and graphics settings can alter the colour of the image - sometimes a great deal. What appears to be blue on one screen may look teal or even green on another.

My yarns are produced in a smoke free, cat friendly environment. Although special care is taken to ensure my cat does not come into contact with the yarn, please bear this in mind if you have a severe allergy to cats.

I reserve the right to cancel any order at my own discretion. If I need to cancel your order, I will of course contact you first.

If you have a question that is not answered here, please don't hesitate to contact me - I aim to answer all emails within 24 hours.
