a gawky teenager and a love for yarn
ever since i was cranking out three garter-stitch washcloths a week for my mother (circa sophomore year of high school), friends, family, and acquaintances thereof have run their hands over my stitchery and cooed, "you could sell this on etsy!"
i decided not to be too utilitarian with it. i spent many an hour with graph paper and a dull pencil, mapping and testing some wacky designs. i wasn't planning on replicating them too often. i wouldn't make them in bulk.
my freshman year of college, i finally decided to give it a go - i took photos of each red zigzag, each woolly hat brim in my inventory and set up shop.
VillanelleDesigns serves the same purpose today as it did then: to provide wardrobes everywhere with a burst of brilliant colour and to help pay my bills!
Owner, Maker, Designer, La Fromage Grande
ever since sweating over garter stitch in my grandmother's kitchen at age fourteen, i have been absolutely mad about knitting. in the years since then i've probably knit ten zillion stitches and could gladly knit ten zillion more; yarn is gold to me.
