could have been packed a little better since they are delicate and needed a bit of extra space, but overall good service from this seller in regards to communication and speed. the best thing about these ruffs is the wire inside which makes them a bit more adaptable to an event like circumstance :) thanks!

About

Opera...its not just for breakfast anymore

I have always collected vintage as part of my theater career.
For years I preserved some amazing items, and they travelled with me everywhere.

After retiring from designing, I realized I had a lot of knowledge not being used and that I still wanted to create something for fun once in a while.

So as a "hobby" from my 7 day a week broadcast network job, I started creating some reproductions and collating some of the better items from my collection into this, VintageCostumes.

If my items appeared onstage, I try to include a photo.

Since singers come in all shapes and sizes, I tend to specialize in making reproductions for everyone, not just stick-thin models.

Come in take a look around, ask me me questions. Especially theater/opera questions, because i have some great stories!

I am a former costume designer in opera. My knowledge of vintage textiles is pretty extensive after 20+ years designing, making/remaking, sewing, and pattern drafting. I retired from "the biz" and now run a broadcast network by day.

Hi everyone!

Hello and welcome! This is my first go at selling online apart from odds and ends on ebay. I do this in addition to my day job, which is also pretty fun - ask me about it sometime.
This is my promise: to fill your order ASAP, to sell the best items I can produce (if handmade) and to package with great care.

Sometimes my schedule gets crazed and I may post a notice about items taking longer.
PLEASE EMAIL ME OR CONVO FIRST ABOUT YOUR ITEM. I love to talk. Just ask my SO. Wait, that might not be a good idea. He HATES to talk.

That pretty much guarantees I will be hanging out in the forums. Stop by and chat.

Payment

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PAYPAL PAYMENTS ARE PROCESSED BY CLASSICAL MUSIC BROADCAST, INC. which is my PayPal business account. Yes, I know its confusing.

I gladly accept Paypal as payment for most items. Please pay within 24 hours of your purchase.
If for some reason you are unable, please contact me as soon as possible. After 24 hours, I'll send
a friendly reminder notice. If I don't hear from you within 3 days of payment, I'll assume you've changed your mind and cancel the sale.

Please note you do NOT need a Paypal account to use PayPal (although it helps). When you check out click the pay by Paypal option and you will be forwarded to a secure page, that gives you the option (on the left hand side) to pay using your debit or credit card.

Shipping
Shipping
We Ship Worldwide!
We Combine Shipping!
We pack and ship all boxes with good ol' fashion TLC! And sometimes new-fangled TLC! What is a fangled, anyway?

All items are shipped within 3 Business days after Full Payment is received. Often they are shipped within 12-24 hours.
Shipping to the US and Canada takes approximately 5-10 business days or less. Usually less. Unless the staff is grumpy. They are often grumpy. Ever hear of "going postal?" It started in Michigan...no really, usually less. :)

Shipping to Europe takes approximately 7-14 business days (it depends very much on your countries postal service)

Australia, New Zealand, Singapore etc. approximately 9-21 business days.

To keep costs down, I ship parcel post, which unfortunately has no tracking.
I can ship international UPS or USPS with tracking (let me know if you want tracking and I will add on the extra fee), but it costs an arm and a leg, and I like keeping those appendages. Really, They're kinda useful.

Duties and local taxes
Purchasers are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country.

Shipping costs cover packaging and postage.
Hawaii and Alaska residents please contact me for shipping rates before purchasing.
Refunds and Exchanges
Refunds and Exchanges

Speak to me and I'll do my best to help, but I do not provide any refunds, returns, or warranties as a general rule. I cannot be responsible for loss/damage in shipping. Add extra if you want insurance and be prepared to file a claim if necessary. CUSTOM ITEMS ARE INSURED AUTOMATICALLY.

Because of the fragile nature of some of my items, I don't accept returns. So please read the descriptions, note the measurements and contact me for whatever questions you might have about an item before purchasing. I also try to describe my items to the best of my ability, flaws and everything, but remember these are vintage items they’ve lived and been loved in the past and may show some wear and tear.

*** I will not be responsible for damages or losses caused by shipment ***. This means no full refunds folks, sorry! If you feel your item was misrepresented in some way, or significantly damaged, a partial refund may be discussed . In this case I must be contacted right away with an explanation (contact with in 3 days of receiving your item) , and pictures sent to me showing if there was any damage. I will assess the situation and get back to you asap.
