I started selling vintage jewelry on Etsy in 2009 after 30 years of collecting. My mother was my inspiration. She had a lot of costume jewelry and as a child, I loved nothing more than playing dress up with her beautiful costume jewels. Back then, costume jewelry was kept for a year or two and then put away or discarded (sigh) as it was not considered collectible like it is today. How I wish I knew then what I know now. I would have rescued them all !

A lot of the jewelry I sell on Etsy is from my personal collection over the years. The pics above are some of my favs from my personal collection. I like jewelry from many different eras and so I have collected a wide range from the Victorian era through the 1980s. I have a lot of reference materials on vintage jewelry and belong to the Jewelry Ring, an educational discussion group for those who love vintage jewelry. I do my best to present the most accurate information I can about the pieces I offer for sale.

And, if I could pass on one thing I've learned, it is this. If your child or grandchild loves looking at or playing with something that is special to them and you own today, tuck it away for them in later years. It might just be an inexpensive trinket today, but in their adult years, it will bring them priceless memories.
