Etsy Selling for Fun and Profit
My antiquing and reselling began in 2003. I worked and sold items from my aunt and uncle's estate in a waterfront tourist town in Poulsbo, Washington. It was a good way to learn the business, what people were looking for, what sells and doesn't sell, and the value of things. On one of those days working in the shop, a customer told me about Etsy, telling me I should sell my stuff there. I was having some success where I was so I didn't take the advice. In 2008, I started a relocating process, closed my storefront operation at summer's end in 2010 and opened an Etsy site in October of 2010. My site lay dormant over the winter and finally in July of 2011, I got into full swing on Etsy. It is a process of getting organized, taking better and better photos, keeping the shop looking fresh with new items and doing a little bit everyday. (Although I admit sometimes I do more than I should, but can't stop getting those listings up.)
I also consider myself an artist and have a shop Artshophop on Etsy where I have my handmade items. I haven't really focused on building that shop yet, but plan to get more involved in my jewelry making studio some time soon. Get involved, work it and enjoy. More books, postcards, marbles, Barbies, buttons, photos and other collectibles to come.

I got into the antique and resale business in 2003 when I had to clear my aunt and uncle's estate. He was a collector and the house was full of amazing things. I sold many of these items in a storefront in Poulsbo, WA, a fabulous tourist town.
