5 out of 5 starsUsed it on my fireplace. It worked well covering the sanded wood. You may not need to sand but I used just latex first then decided I wanted a different finish and bought this to add to the paint.

4 out of 5 starsTried product on an old mismatched bedroom set. Very satisfied. Furniture was golden oak and some other dark stained color. Follow directions carefully and works superbly but had to learn some 'tricks' of my own NOT in product video. Dries fast and uneven when brushing out too long. On the large flat surfaces like top and sides, coat total area heavily, brush out to even finish- BUT FINISH with full end to end strokes to eliminate any unevenness. Covering my dark wood Required 3 coats. Used 2 coats polyurethane and now have a lovely matched set. No 5 star rating because Etsy product page shows it's available in larger quantities but that option not offered to purchase. Wanted 12 additional oz but had to buy 3 - 4oz jars and was charged same shipping cost on EACH jar. All 12 oz could have fit in one jar. Product recommended

4 out of 5 starsI bought this product in "Wrought Iron." I was looking for a way to add aged patina to my work without the "dirty" or "dingy" look that the brown waxes tend to create. This fit the bill! It adds the perfect patina without making things look dirty. It's easy to use and I LOVE the color!!! It's a warm charcoal-black. LOVE IT!!!

About VintageStorehouseLLC
Our Story
Hi, I’m Kelsey Elaine, founder of the Vintage Storehouse Restoration Company, but most people know me from my blog at the Vintage Storehouse.
My blog has always been dedicated to teaching others how to paint and restore old, forgotten things into beautiful custom works of art. I have a passion for restoring furniture to it’s former glory! It never ceases to amaze me how a little bit of T.L.C. can transform something that would normally be tossed aside into something others would pay hundreds for.
After spending years searching for the perfect products to help me with my passion for restoring old furniture and decor, I was frustrated. There are so many options on the market, and I while I found a few tried and true products that I loved, I still felt like the process was too difficult. At some point in my journey I came across a name brand chalk style paint. I loved the idea of using a paint that could stick to just about anything, without sanding or priming. The amount of time I saved was incredible, but unfortunately the cost of this paint was completely out of price range. So I started to venture into using some DIY recipes I found online. I personally felt the best one was Plaster of Paris, so I stuck with that…. until I found out how hazardous some of the materials are in that product. It really isn’t designed to be used in paint.
This discovery sparked an idea to create my own all natural alternative for great paint that could make restoring furniture as easy and simple as possible. When I started researching what would later become the Vintage Storehouse Chalky Paint Powder Line, I was looking for a product that I would be able to use day in and day out, that would make restoring furniture not only easier and more affordable, but more enjoyable too… Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would turn into a manufacturing business, but somewhere along the lines Vintage Storehouse Restoration Company was born.
Since then we’ve spent thousands of hours researching and experimenting with different products until we arrived at a combination of materials that we felt just couldn’t get any better. The VS Chalky Paint Powder Line was released and was met with an incredible amount of support. We now have a wonderful group of followers, painters and retailers that just can’t be beat!
I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of restoring furniture with others, and I am so grateful for all the support we have received since launching the Vintage Storehouse Restoration Company product line. I hope you take the time to explore all the tutorials and information we’ve piled into this site to help make your furniture restoring experience the best it can be.

I've been restoring old forgotten furniture for years on my blog the Vintage Storehouse. After being frustrated with the expensive and unsafe supplies out there, I started making my own. A few years later, Vintage Storehouse Restoration Co. was born.
