5 out of 5 starsThis is the best thing I’ve purchased all year! The typewriter is pristine and works great and I was so surprised that the original manual and excessive sheet were included! Chad has also been super great about checking in with the typewriter and messaging to make sure everything’s going great. If I were to ever get another typewriter or knew anyone who wanted one, I’d suggest VintageTypeShop first!

5 out of 5 starsWhat a great typewriter and a great shop owner! Thank you to Chad for being absolutely on top of messages with my questions and concerns and being so kind and helpful! It took awhile to arrive because USPS ('nuff said) but when it arrived, I was ecstatic! The packaging was great, as after over a week of traveling, the typewriter was in perfect condition and ready to use right away. As this being my first ever typewriter, I had questions right away for Chad and he responded immediately and even made a video demonstrating how to use it and explaining the process to me. The customer service level is high here and I couldn't be happier that I chose this shop to buy my first typewriter. Thank you again!

As for my refurbishing process:
1) I begin by assessing the typewriter and all desired/possible options/budget range/misc details.
2)My next step is testing the unit and it’s mechanical capabilities throughout or should it be for decor only?
3) Following that the machine is disassembled and fully cleaned along with the inner mechanism and casing panels. All inferior pads, felt inserts, grommets and faulty screws are removed and replaced.
4) All major repairs take place once the disassembly and cleaning is complete. The keys, platen, feed roller and other components that require replacement or repair receive the necessary attention at this point.
5) Every typewriter needs tweaking in one area or another, whether it be the ribbon, typeset, platen alignment, etc.
Once these steps are completed and I am satisfied with the performance of the machine, I I sign off and your typewriter is ready to Go😉
