Love love love. I dyed this dress blue and wore to a wedding. It was a hit!

This is so special. I'm putting candy in it and wrapping it for my daughter graduating from Vassar college. It's going home. Lol

About

Blame it all on my vintage Afghan coat!

Alas, I am an unintended collector: a magnet for curiosities, a soft-heart for beautiful things (and a magpie for shiny ones!) Over the course of my years of travels and adventures, I have developed the cumbersome compulsion of taking a piece of wherever I was away with me. Vagabonding and pack-ratting have their limitations, and, well…yes, baggage... steamer trunks in a New England barn, wicker baskets in an attic in Kathmandu, metal boxes in an old fort in India.

My Etsy dabble all started with the embroidered sheepskin coat I haggled for in the Istanbul bazaar during a nomadic VW bus journey back in the day ~ how could I possibly part with it? But I finally put my fancy-free foot down and resolved to find good homes for a lifetime collection from voyages, adventures and auctions, just as Etsy made its timely and magical appearance in my life .

And the rest is history, the fun of Etsy's trademark whimsy, the satisfaction of serendipitous match-making and the wonder of extraordinary interactions. The stories and connections unfold and delight: my favourite is the little would-be princess who spent days on line searching for royal garb (fortuitously like the red velvet gown and cape that were folded away in one of my steamer trunks!)

The histories of found treasures also intrigue : the sepia photo stashed behind the mirror of Melle B.B.B.s leather traveling case, the tiny tole box with a little yellowed note in it from Thanksgiving Day 1955...

Timing, connection, serendipity ~ watchwords for a rousing Etsy vintage hunt. Vintage Vagabond Too hopes you'll unearth the treasure you don't even know you need ~ until you see it!

Alas, I am an unintended collector: a magnet for curiosities, a soft-heart for beautiful things (and a magpie for shiny ones!) Over the course of my years of travels and adventures, I have developed the cumbersome compulsion of taking a piece of wherever I was away with me (Do you need a chandelier from Florence? an Afghan coat from Istanbul? a saddle from Ulaan Bator? a marble top commode from Aix-en-Provence? a tea set from Boston?)

I'm now digging into the teetering towers of boxes in my barn and trunks under my bed to unearth and share these treasures with you.

Refunds and Exchanges
By nature, Vintage/Antique items are, well...vintage ...and not always in tip top condition. They have histories and stories to tell. They may have nicks and scrapes and chips and stains and tears and holes. However, I do my best to present items as they are, bare bones and all, and to describe all flaws, to avoid problems with misrepresentation.

For clothing, pls read the descripton c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y. Victorian clothing can be very closely tailored and tight-fitting, so pls check the measurements (frequently Very Tiny) so we can get it right. They are often extremely fragile, so best to avoid unnecessary voyages.

If you have questions, or would like add'l photos or details, please ask.

If you are dreadfully unhappy with an item, pls convo me immediately and directly. Return postage will be at the buyer's expense.

My aim is to ferret out appreciative homes for these treasures, and to find reicipients delighted with their finds.
Additional policies and FAQs
For international orders, customs charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer.
