Unique Hand Blown Glass Made in Vermont

Jennifer Violette’s passion for creating art began in early childhood. She learned basic drawing and woodworking skills from her father & sewing skills from her mother. Her paternal grandparents earned their living as studio artists at their home in Maine and she was always inspired by their work and lifestyle. After graduating from highschool in 1990, she decided to study art at Alfred University School of Art & Design. VIolette first began working with molten glass in 1991 at the age of 18 while a freshman at Alfred. She went on to graduate from Alfred University In 1994 with a BFA with honors in glass and metal sculpture. She won a special award for being the Top Artist in her graduating class. She was a special exchange student at Rhode Island School of Design in 1993 and studied there with guest artist Dante Marioni. She has studied closely with famous glass aritsts Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, Pino Signoretto, Richard Marquis, Randy Walker & Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen while taking classes at Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, the Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass and Penland School of Crafts.
Violette's Vermont art studio is surrounded by beautiful perennial gardens, berry bushes and fruit trees. She draws great inspiration for her pieces from her rural landscape.
