Art to touch the heart
Antje grew up in Germany in a family where strong emphasis was placed on doing things with your hands. Her broad education in a Waldorf school gave her exposure and knowledge of many skills in addition to a form language that was deeply embedded in her creative vocabulary and that she draws from in her current work.
Antje is a german trained Goldsmith for 30 years now and has lived and worked in Maine USA for the past 27 years.
Antje came to Maine directly after her apprenticeship and worked with Michael Good where she learned anticlastic raising. She stayed with him for 15 years, designing and creating part of the jewelry collection. In 2005 she started to explore her own work independently;
Now creating jewelry, bronze and copper sculptures or larger outdoor pieces out of steel.
