The Element Of Surprise
I started selling on Etsy as a way of earning money to pay for my hobby.
One reason I began to make jewellery was I could never find something I liked...that I could afford. I was already a milliner, so it was not a difficult leap to make.
I work part-time, so I can only make things when I have spare time; which is when I'm happiest. My designs are formed either by an idea that pops into my head or when I see an interesting looking stone or amazing leather; then, that leads the design.
My whole ethos is to create beautiful things that don't cost the earth. I have always loved making things, I'm mostly self taught, I design and make all my designs.
My style is generally, quite minimal with clean lines. However, I enjoy including little unexpected quirks into my designs; bright linings, antique keys, tassels, an accent bead etc. as I feel that my accessories are not only to be worn for their sake, but to give pleasure and enjoyment to the wearer, with that extra bit of exclusivity that stands out from the crowd.
All the leather used is from animals that have been used for food. Thus in keeping with the ethos of minimum waste, I make little purses from the left over bits of leather, so if you see small random purses in my shop or on my craft stall, that's what they are.
In terms of materials used for my jewellery,I get them from different sellers over the world; the Sterling Silver, is partly sourced here in London and from artisans in Bali. I get the gem stones here in London and also from makers in India, my pearls also partly come from makers in China and stockists in London.
Thank you for stopping by. Every item in my shop is designed and made by me in my little studio here in London.
I do believe in the functionality of beautiful items and this plays a great part in my designs.
For most of my jewelry, I enjoy using semi precious stones. I find it fascinating that such pretty stones occur naturally and I try to do their beauty justice in the way I use them. All the beads and clasps are Sterling Silver unless otherwise stated.
The leather I use are from animals that have been used for food. It is amazingly soft leather, so apart from being a useful item in your life, each item is a pleasure to handle and to look at.
I will be happy to hear from you if you would like something made for you or adjusted to suit you.
