The creative process
I am a garage sale warrior. This drives my family nuts... especially if we're driving somewhere important. I must stop. I cannot drive past. I swear it will only take a few minutes! I am able to see potential in furniture and other pieces that most people ignore.
I am so sentimental that sometimes I feel bad for discarded pieces... seriously... I feel really bad! I think how awful it would be to be mistreated, and broken, and then just thrown away! I'm so ridiculous... haha. I think of the history each piece of furniture has: who may have owned it, where it came from, the stories it could tell. You may think I'm a bit of a sucker at this point, but I believe that it's my level of empathy (even for inanimate objects) that allows me to enjoy breathing new life into pieces that I bring home.
I am detail oriented. I mentioned in my personal bio that I'm a law student and this is something that is reflected in everything I do. I'm very particular about the quality of furniture that I sell. Although most of my pieces are over 50 years old, I ensure that each piece is sturdy and ready for everyday use. This has required me to become familiar with the tools and tricks of the furniture trade. I do not sell mass produced furniture that is air brushed and faux distressed (I am not Pottery Barn); each piece is hand painted by me and is one of a kind. I spend hours if not entire weekends prepping, tightening, priming, painting, distressing and sealing each piece. While there may be slight imperfections in the finish, each listing's description and pictures are honest representations of what you will receive when you purchase from Vintage Charm.
I am a full time student. I do not make a living off of my Etsy shop- this is a weekend venture for me and as I mentioned above... furniture is my creative outlet. I take pride in the work that I do, and all the money I make goes into buying and restoring new pieces (SOMETIMES... it goes to textbooks... haha). This is what keeps my pieces beautiful and fairly priced. I'm not in the business of marking up and ripping off- I enjoy the creative process. I do hope to expand and grow in the future as I continue to develop my reputation online.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my shop. I hope to gain and keep your patronage for years to come!

I am a full time law student who was desperately in need of a creative outlet. I started working on pieces of furniture for my home and was taken aback by the response I received from friends and family encouraging me to sell my pieces.

You may also arrange shipping through your own provider. I highly recommend TSC Moving (http://www.tscmoving.com), they specialize in transporting vintage and designer furniture throughout much of the U.S.. Every piece they transport is blanket wrapped, fully insured, and delivered from my location to yours.
You can call TSC Moving during regular business hours at 888-219-6054 for a price quote or log onto their site and fill out the quote sheet. Dimensions are provided in all of my listings; please convo me for any additional details you need.
For areas that TSC Moving does not service, I suggest www.uship.com
Once you post your request on their site, you will get bids from several truckers. They need to know dimensions and destination to give you a price quote.
