Sizes have changed over the decades, and may vary between pattern brands, and differ from unregulated commercial clothing sizing. Measure your bust/chest, waist, and hips with a measuring tape, compare these measurements to the charts given on our listings.
The listing photo of the back of the pattern envelope often includes a sizing chart.
Looking at VINTAGE patterns, mid 1960's or earlier?
We suggest when buying a vintage dress or top pattern, to choose the correct bust size, and make any necessary alterations to the pattern in the waist and hips. An experienced sewer may be capable of making adjustments in the bust as well. For skirt and pants patterns, choose the correct hips size, and adjust the waist.

Some patterns give a level of difficulty/sewing ability recommended to use the pattern...from Very Easy, Easy, Average to Advanced.

The buyer should use their own judgement before purchase to decide if their skills match the rating. Be sure to look at the photo of the backs of the envelopes for more information on the construction of the garment.

Almost all our patterns instructions are in English, sometimes there are also instructions in an additional language.

Even though some envelopes display writing in French or Spanish or Dutch or German, that is NOT always an indicator that the instructions found inside are multi-lingual.

In the text part of the listing, under Condition, is where we will note if the instructions are available or included in an additional language besides the standard English.

You can type "French Instructions" or "Spanish Instructions" into our Shop Search function, to find some multilingual patterns.

Patterns vary in weight & thickness so the exact full package weight & method of shipping is not known until packing the specific patterns in an order. Shipping costs are estimated, we strive to get the best rates for our customers, including splitting orders at our discretion. ■☆■

Canada - $1.25-$1.50 per additional pattern
