About

I discovered metalsmithing in 2006 just by chance. During my (should have been) last semester of school I needed an extra class to fill in my schedule and metalsmithing fit in so I signed up. I ended up loving it so much I changed my emphasis and spent two more years learning metalsmithing. I graduated in 2009 with a BFA in Metalsmithing.

Using traditional Metalsmithing techniques I create each piece is individually from start to finish allowing each piece to be unique. Every piece starts out as wire and sheet metal and is cut, formed, textured, soldered and finished by hand.

Inspiration for my pieces is a combination of minimalist and modern combined with the beautiful and decorative style of art nouveau. My pieces are designed to be beautiful and feminine but simple enough for everyday.

Jewelry Care
All of the metals (Sterling Silver, Copper, Brass) used in my jewelry are left natural (unsealed) and will develop a natural patina overtime. The metal oxidizes when it comes in contact with air in the environment. The amount and rate at which is does completely depends on each wearer and their environment and can also be affected by things such as heat, sunlight, sweat, swimming pools and chlorine water, chemicals and cosmetics.

If you’ve ever seen copper roofs that have turned green, that is what is called patina. The copper has reacted with the environment and rain, especially if it is acidic rain. The same sort of thing can happen when jewelry comes in contact with your skin if your skin is acidic. The acids in your skin combine with metal and make copper or silver salts which are green/gray. They are harmless and can simply be washed off.

To prevent jewelry from tarnishing avoid getting it wet. When you are not wearing a piece keep them in a sealed plastic bag to keep air from getting to them.

Natural patina may or may not be desirable depending on your preference. To clean a piece with a brushed finish any abrasive type cleaner (like bar keepers friend) and a scrubby will work really well. For polished finishes any type of metal/jewelry cleaner and a cloth should work. I recommend “Sunshine Cloth”.

Patina Care-Black/Brown Pieces
Patina is only a surface treatment. It is sealed with a wax sealer, but over time it is possible for it to fade, usually on areas that are against the skin. If your patina starts to look dull, a tiny amount vaseline can be rubbed with a cloth or paper towel and will make the color appear darker.
*Do not use the sunshine cloth or anything abrasive on pieces with patina.

Frequently asked questions

When will my order ship?

Orders can take up to 10 business days. I make everything from start to finish with my own hands so please be patient.

Is your jewelry hypoallergenic?

No, I would never guarantee any jewelry to be hypoallergenic. Different people can have reactions to any type of metal, but for the most part my jewelry works fine for most people. If you have sensitive ears I don't recommend copper or brass.

Do you accept Returns and Exchanges?

Care instructions

To much info to include here but, each order will come with care instructions and most come with a polishing cloth depending on the finish.

Post Length?

Why are there two different post lengths? Its personal preference, but I like 3/8". I really dislike having excess post sticking out, especially if you sleep with earrings in, but I know 3/8" might not fit everyone. If your not sure, measuring an earring you currently own can give you and idea of what size might be better for you. I don't recommend either size as standard, since everyone is different.
