Metal Accessories Industrial Style

We love metal for it's strength, endurance and versatility. Metal can be morphed into shapes that are edgy and cool, combine the masculine with the feminine, are strong and solid yet are smooth and silky to the touch. It can be ground or rusted, made to look old while depicting the new. It is a magical material that sometimes has a mind of it's own.

Metal's strength and endurance means your items will last for years to come and our ornaments can be passed down through generations to make lasting memories for you, your family and friends.

Here's the story of why we started this little shop:
After working for 17 years in graphic design, Jon wanted to work more with his hands. In 2005 he apprenticed at a metal shop and began making awesome sculptures. Of course as his wife (I'm Mary) I have bragging rights!

In 2007 he went out on his own and we started "The Metal Gardener" a company for him to create organic and nature inspired sculptures, lighting and other functional works of art.

I (Mary)worked as a product developer in the social expression and game industry for many years. After the company I was working for shut it's doors in Tucson, I needed a job. Jon came in one day with a buckle he had made "just because." My product development mind went in overdrive and I saw us creating a line of metal accessories.

Both of us come up with ideas, Jon sketches them out then draws them on the computer. Jon also does most of the metal work himself using a plasma cutter. Some of out tiny pieces we have cut using a water jet by a local metal fabricator. I take most of the product shots, assemble the accessories adding key chains, money clips and chains. I create the bling jewelry, answer emails, do the book keeping, ship the product and manage the site.

We've had so much fun living out our dream of owning our own business and hope you enjoy your visit!

Jon has graphic design and metal experience and Mary has graphic design, painting, mosaics and product management experience. We take pride in every piece we ship out the door as we feel it is a miniture piece of metal art.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders

Returns and exchange details
We will take exchanges, but you will need to pay for the shipping to return the item back to us. There will be a $4 restocking fee on all items with free shipping. Items returned TO US must not be damaged in any way or we will not be able to exchange it.

If an item is damaged in shipping TO YOU we will need a picture of the item sent to us showing the damage within 3 days of receiving the item for a full exchange.

All EU returns, must be shipped back within 14 days of receiving it or your return will not be honored.
Payment is due before we ship out the product. We accept paypal and payments through Etsy currently. When mailing in Arizona, we must collect taxes unless you provide us a resale number.

We will also accept checks and money orders however they must be received and cleared before we ship out any product.

We can also accept credit card numbers over the phone and run through our merchant account either Visa or Mastercard. Please convo us so we can set up a call.
Please note. If you do not put the correct shipping in during your transaction, we are not responsible for it getting to you nor will we repay to have it re-shipped to you. SEE more at ADDRESS below. Please read over your shipping address carefully before hitting submit. All FREE shipping will ship FIRST CLASS even if Etsy says it will ship priority. You must pay for priority shipping or express if you'd like it to ship more quickly.

We will make every effort to meet this shipping schedule for your order so Please reference this. If we do not have an item in stock and feel we cannot make it by the date designated below, we will immediately email you to discuss and if you want to cancel the transaction we will promptly do so. Please double check your address before hitting purchase. If you have entered the wrong address, we cannot change it on your Etsy receipt. In order to protect us and you, we will cancel the order and ask that you purchase the item again with the correct address. We will NOT pay for shipping an additional item to you if you enter the wrong address. If the item is returned to us due to you giving us an invalid address, refusing the package or having an undeliverable address, we will refund you the price of the item, but NOT the shipping expense and if the item was shipped with Free Shipping, we will only refund you the amount of the item LESS a $4 restocking fee. We use tracking information for all US purchases.

We try to have at least one of each type and color in stock, but expect 2 weeks before item is shipped out. If you need an item earlier, please let us know and we will make every effort to get your item out as needed.

All products will ship first class which will USUALLY take 3-7 days.

If a different shipping method is needed, we will need to advise you of the cost and bill you the additional amount accordingly. We cannot control the US post office. If your item does not arrive in the estimated delivery date, please contact your local post office.
Also, if you require a signature confirmation, please contact us about this and we will add to your order (this is an extra shipping charge).

INTERNATIONAL: We welcome international customers.

Due to the large increase in shipping costs, we will now ship ALL ITEMS including BUCKLES First Class Package International Service USPS. All items will be shipped this way unless otherwise stated by the purchaser/buyer that you would like a different method. The small international flat rate box and the first class package CAN be tracked online once it leaves the US in the following countries only: Australia, Belgium, Brail, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. All other countries can only track to the US port of exit. Please allow UP T0 30 days once the item is shipped. Items sometimes get caught up in customs and can be held in customs for UP TO 3 MONTHS or more. Please contact your local post office with the tracking number if it does not show up in within 30 days.You may owe customs or Duty fees (see below). There is nothing we can do on our side unfortunately. If you want a trackable and faster shipping method please contact us for further options. Note the price will increase dramatically.

DUTY: Please note all international shipments may contain EXTRA DUTY and VAT FEES. This is the responsibility of the purchaser/buyer and will be collected on your end. Under EU regulations, customers in the EU have a14-day period which will start the moment a customer receives a product, rather than at the time he or she purchases it. Within that time frame, buyers can change their minds and return products without providing a reason, although it would be nice to know the reason. PLEASE remember that we are a small mom and pop shop and this is our living. Please do not order something, pay premium shipping only to decide you don't want it. This is costly for us. Care instructions

Belt Buckles & Charms:

*Do not get wet- if you do get it wet, wipe with dry soft cloth
*Do not drop on a hard surface- the clear powdercoat might chip. If it does, you can use clear nail polish and dab on the chipped spot.
*Avoid wearing when sweaty. Exposure to body perspiration may cause your item to rush. Although this is rare, some people's body chemistry reacts to the metal and can cause it to rust. Wipe with a damp soft cloth then a dry soft cloth if you do perspire on your item in order to keep it looking new.

Will My Rusty Ornament Rub Off On Me?

All of our ornaments are rusted, then sealed with a clear satin gloss so no rust should rub off on you.

Are My Items Sealed?

Yes! The buckles, keychains and charms are all sealed by powdercoating the item which is a heat process.

The ornaments are all sealed with a spray clear coat.

The earrings are NOT sealed, but they are stainless steel so they won't rust.

What Type of Steel Do You Use?

We use Mild Steel for most of our metal items. Mild steel is just plain old everyday steel. It is NOT aluminum or stainless steel.

Mild steel will rust if it is left untreated whereas aluminum and stainless steel will not rust.

Do You Engrave or Personalize

We don't engrave, but we can hand stamp capital letters/ Initials or short sayings or dates onto the Belt Buckles, Key chains and Charms.

Each letter is $1. Please send us a convo on what you'd like done.

We don't personalize ornaments at this time.

Custom and personalized orders

We create custom belt buckles starting at $95 and up. Please send us a sketch or research to give us an idea of what you'd like along with a time frame.

WE DO NOT: recreate copyrighted or trademarked logos or images unless you are the owner of the copyright or trademark.

We can do custom key chains, charms, and ornaments depending on the quantity and timing. Pricing varies by job. Please send us a convo with an image or description of what you'd like.

Do You Offer Wholesale

Yes! Please convo us and give us your Tax ID number along with store name and website. We would be happy to work with you.

Do You Offer Quantity Discount?

Yes in some instances we offer quantity discount.

If you'd like more than 5 buckles, keychains or charms we will offer a discount. Just convo us with your items and we can give you the discounted price.

For ornaments, check the beginning of each listing to see if a discount for quantities is being offered. It changes from time to time. If you don't enter the code, no discount will be taken off your order.

We always offer discounts on shipping multiple items if you ask us (when we aren't running free shipping specials) so let us know the items you'd like and we will make a special listing for you combining items for cheaper shipping.

Shipping Issues

We make every effort to get items shipped within several days after ordering. Some items take longer than others so review the "ship by" dates.

As much as we wish we could tell you your package will arrive on time, we cannot control the post office. Please order in enough time to ensure the item is delivered when you need.

In general first class takes 3-5 days, but can take longer during busy seasons. Priority cost extra and can take from 1-3 days though there is no guarantee. The post office will not refund any money if the package does not arrive in that time frame. Express Mail is expensive and takes 1-2 days to ship and is guaranteed by the post office-this includes only the price of shipping and not of the actual product.

Changing A Wrong Addresses

If you enter the wrong address and realize this after ordering, please contact us. We will cancel your order and have you re-order the item with the correct address. We will not pay to ship out a new order to you if you input the wrong address. If the item is returned to us, we will credit you the price of the item only, not the shipping. For items that have free shipping an automatic $4 restocking fee will be added, so you will receive a refund of the total amount you paid less $4. Please review your shipping address carefully before hitting buy.
