From Our Family Garden to Your Home
Welcome to WenMin Garden Tea.
My name is Susan, and this little shop began with a dream, a garden, and the encouragement of my family.
Several years ago, my husband and I purchased an old farmhouse in the countryside of Pennsylvania. The house was over one hundred years old. Together, we spent years repairing it with our own hands. We rebuilt the roof, renovated every room, created peaceful guesthouses, planted fruit trees, flowers, and built a beautiful garden around our home.
As our garden grew, so did our love for growing traditional Chinese plants. We introduced Chinese fruit trees, flowering plants, lotus ponds, and herbs that reminded us of home. Visitors who stayed at our countryside guesthouse often asked where these unique plants came from and whether they could grow them in their own gardens.
That simple question inspired this shop.
Today, we carefully grow and share authentic Chinese fruit trees, flowering plants, tea plants, Chinese teas, and traditional tea accessories with gardeners across the United States. Every plant is selected with care, and every order is packed by hand in our home before it begins its journey.
The name WenMin has a special meaning. It is not my own name. It combines the names of my eldest daughter, Minying, and my son-in-law, Zhang Wen. When I first wanted to open an Etsy shop, I almost gave up. I worried that my English wasn't good enough and that I knew nothing about building an online business.
They never let me quit.
They patiently taught me how to use the computer, answered my endless questions, encouraged me whenever I doubted myself, and gave me the confidence to continue. Without their love and support, WenMin Garden Tea would never have existed.
Today, our whole family continues to help in different ways. Together, we grow plants, care for the garden, harvest fruit, pack orders, and share the beauty of Chinese gardening and tea culture with families across America.
For us, this is much more than a business.
It is a way of preserving traditions, creating beauty, bringing people closer to nature, and sharing the peaceful life we have built together.
