OMG! It's just perfect. Also like your new offer of the summer colors but mine is so special for a very special woman. Beautifully encased .... Speedy service...just can't say enough good things about my custom order ...great communications and so friendly. Thank you ever so much!
I am Wanita, and this is my closet.
Actually, it’s a little more than my closet. It is my craft table, my kitchen counter top, the organizer beside my desk, and even my TV cabinet. All the places other people store things like dishes and DVDs, I find spilling over in my flat with papers and paints and cutters and craft ideas. The part you get to see is what comes of all the stars aligning, my time and creative juices coming together, and a lot of tedious trial and error.
Most of my shop is greeting cards—of the slightly-unusual variety. They’re the kind of cards I would like to get: one-of-a-kind, slightly whimsical. I make cards for laundry day, cards shaped like cootie catchers. Off-kilter, make-you-smile sort of items.
My latest prized creation is my “flashcard” series. Last year, on Etsy, I found a gorgeous set of 1960s vintage flashcards (a little banged up—but who wouldn’t be after fifty years?), and I knew I had to have them. I didn’t know what I planned to do with them, but I knew it would be great.
When the flashcards came in the mail, I couldn’t stop turning them over and over, like they were precious gems. To me, they were. When I came to the “g” card, which read, “g – as in ‘go’,” it made me think of how much yen I have to travel. Sometimes I wish someone would just say to me, “G—as in, ‘Go!’” That’s when it came to me. Greeting cards with messages as simple as the phrases on a flashcard. I started with the “h – as in ‘hi’” series—basically, ten different ways to say, “Hi! I’m thinking about you today!”—and from there, the ideas poured out almost too fast for me to write them all down.
There are other items in my shop, too. Those change all the time. Sometimes there are hats, sometimes there is jewelry. Things other crafters in my shop come up with to sell for a season. But the paper is always there. I’m a girl. I love paper.
That’s probably why my closet is filled with it.
I hope you enjoy perusing my shop—my closet. By the way, I love custom requests, because it shows me how much other people love creating, too, and how when two creative minds come together, the results can be amazing. So please don’t shy from sending me questions! I’d love to hear from you. Keep that in mind as you look around.
Well, what are you waiting for? G—as in, “Go shop!”

Greetings! I am Wacky Wanita, the creator and founder of Wanita's Closet. I've always loved creating beautiful things like no one has ever seen before--finding that special twist that makes a classic concept new and fresh.
Designer, Creator Of Button Hats
Lola is the creative wonder behind the Wacky Wanita retro-style hats with vintage buttons! Like Wanita, she is a writer, but enjoys having a creative outlet that means she gets to work with her hands.
Wanita's Closet is the online boutique offering the best of unique and specialized cards available--whether it's the ever-popular Fortune Cookie, with eight spaces to write in your most creative messages for any occasion, or one of the dozens of "flashcards" we always have on hand--made to say whatever you like, and drawn from a collection of authentic 1960s flashcards.
At Wanita's Closet, we work hard to find the best possible materials for the best possible product. We search for acid-free, recycled papers whenever we can, and also strive to ensure the products we offer are USA-made or Fair Trade, because we are part of the small business community and feel that it is our responsibility to support other members of that community by shopping local and paying what is fair.
We hope that you feel good about shopping at Wanita's Closet. We work hard to make it a comfortable place for you. Our closet is your closet!
Accepted payment methods
If you do not have a PayPal account and wish to pay by credit card, you can still select the PayPal option. This will bring you to a screen with an icon that indicates that you will have to enter your PayPal account information, but below the icon will be an option to pay via credit card. This will be your best bet.
Items will ship when the order clears, so it is best to place your order as soon as possible (make sure you make it all the way to the confirmation page--otherwise, the item continues to remain in your cart!). In some cases, customers wish to transfer money directly through PayPal rather than using Etsy. If this is the case for you, contact the shop owner. If payment for the item(s) is not received within ten business days, the item will be relisted for someone else to purchase.
If you are interested in other forms of payment, please keep checking back. As our shop grows and Etsy grows, our policies are bound to change to fit the needs of Etsy shoppers. We will do the best we can to work with you!
Upgrading for rush orders is possible in some cases, depending on demand at that time, so if you have a specific request, please contact the shop owner. There are several links on every page of our shop where you open a message with the shop.
If you are shipping something as a gift, please let us know so that we can send the receipt to you and not the receiver of the gift. In fact, if you have any questions or requests like these, feel free to contact us!
At this time, we are not shipping internationally. Until we have established our store in the United States, we are not able to take on the weight of international orders--but keep checking back!
Refunds and Exchanges
As a rule, Wacky Wanita items are non-refundable. Because each of our items tends to be specific and unique, if an item arrives damaged inside its container and we are unable to replace it with something comparable, then we will issue a refund via the method of payment originally used--via PayPal in most cases. Be aware that refunds may take a few days to come through. If you have a concern about your refund, be sure to check your PayPal account. If the money does not appear to be there (waiting to be transferred by you to your banking account), contact WackyWanitas.
We may ask that you ship the damaged item back before issuing a refund or sending a replacement, so please hold onto any damaged items rather than throwing them away.
Additional policies and FAQs
Wanita's Closet welcomes custom orders! We love them! Make as many customizations as you would like--truly, it's our pleasure to create the perfect item for you.
Some of our items are more work than others, but in almost any case, the item you would like should be ready in only a few days. Listings for stock items will offer an estimate for the cost of the item, the immediate customizations available, and the timeframe for work. If the exact modification you are hoping for is not listed, send us a message--maybe we just haven't thought of it ourselves yet! Sincerely--we are willing to work with you.
Wanita's Closet does offer a wholesale discount for "flashcards." If you are a retailer looking to sell one (or more) of our flashcard collections, here are a few things to note before you order:
1. You will want to have your retail certification available.
2. A minimum order of five sets will be required. You will be able to choose which collections you would like and the number of each, but the minimum total number of sets is always five.
3. If you plan to order flashcards that are not part of collections, then a minimum of twenty cards will be required.
4. Wholesale orders may take up to one week to complete, depending on the size of the order.
Still have questions? Contact us! We would love to hear from you.
