Note from shop owner Greetings Friends!

The time has come for Wander Wears to peace out, indefinitely. Erica is traveling way too much abroad to maintain the shop. Who knows when she will even be in back in the US. So until further notice, we are closing up shop! Keep buying second hand, keep being awesome, and above all else - keep loving!

We appreciate your support and love you all!
Cheers,
Wander Wears

About WanderWears

A spiritual nomad on a mission to open heats and inspire conscious consumption. What we do to the earth we do to ourselves.

Because of a deep passion for sustainability and thrifting, I decided to start a vintage store, providing quality and super stellar preloved wearables for everyday adventuring - as an alternative to fast fashion
.
But not just any ole vintage shop. I wanted to represent the change I want to see- radical conscious consumerism. So in addition to reducing the impact on this planet by providing you with already existing clothing, I am dedicated to curating a collection that features clothes made out of natural materials as much as possible
.
From sourcing, to dying, to manufacturing, to shipping, clothing production wreaks havock on our planet, especially in the 'take-make-throw away' system of the current fast fashion industry. But synthetic oil-derived fibers (aka plastic!) are especially harmful to the environment, much more so than natural fibers. Synthetics are not biodegradable, which means long term pollution, including microfibers from washing/wearing that end up in our waterways and oceans. YUCK!
.
So I wanted to focus on clothing made of less impactful materials- cotton, wool, rayon, silk, linen, etc. Luckily for us and you, vintage clothes are largely made out of better materials! Woo-hoo!
.
WANDER WEARS helps the environment in three ways:
1. We keep clothes out of landfills- Reduce waste and Reduce impact!
2. We provide clothing that already exists rather than selling brand new fast fashion- Reuse!
3. We choose clothing made out of natural materials less harmful to the environment- Radical Responsibility!
.
Anyway, that's my thing
.
Wilmington NC is home when Im not traveling
.
My mom is my one and only ‘employee’ - she takes care of shipping while I’m away. She’s the sweetest!
.
“The clothing we choose to wear everyday has an enormous impact on the planet and its people. Our clothing can either continue to be a major part of the problem, or it can be an enormous part of getting our planet on track. The choice is ultimately ours…”
