Announcement    Thank you for visiting and considering my artwork. There are a lot of design styles and sizes available to choose from. Clicking the "Sort by" link, and selecting "Custom" will show what is in-stock (in the first 20-25 pieces or so) and available for quicker shipping. Please see the title of each piece for availability. Most pieces are made, or created "by order" and are not physically in-stock, however, when one becomes available, it is shifted to in-stock. New small and large fountain designs coming soon too...
Recently the nationwide supply chain issues have made material less available and also costs have gone up and so things are adapted and set accordingly. Thank you for visiting and viewing my work, as well as purchases and the wonderful reviews. I appreciate it. Thank you!

Handcrafted Copper Fountains, Sculpture and Art: Process and Summary Artist/Company Information

I have been creating handcrafted copper fountains, art and sculptures full time since 2004 and have been on Etsy since mid December of 2013. I began by teaching myself to work in copper, and I have been working away with it since. A lot of artwork was initially made from my own interests and then a lot of work was made to help people bring their ideas to life... some were and are a combination of the two. I think art made individually is never done alone since it is inspired by so many other things, ideas and other peoples work. Often art is an individual process, but it can also be a symbiotic one, or both, and certainly it is always meant to be shared and appreciated by others however it is created. My goal as an artist is to enhance your space, and bring relaxation and enjoyment to you and others. I try to send a little oasis from the desert here to where ever a fountain may go, and those aspects summarize Copper Phoenix Art's company mission.

Basic Process and Standards:

By virtue of each piece being handmade, each take a considerable amount of time and work, and are all essentially "one-of-a-kind pieces" unto themselves. Most of the artwork here are items that I try to keep in stock as much as I can. That can vary a lot in availability and timing, yet if an item is not in stock it is still always listed as a "Made on Demand, or "Made to Order" piece of art. I then make it as close as I can to the art displayed in the listing photos, so all the listing's here (unless specified otherwise) are standard designs available for purchase. The only fluctuations designs may have are minor variations on colors and parts (and minute differences on some decor sizes, in them being smaller or larger in subtle ways) but that makes each one very unique unto itself, while still being very similar in appearance to what is seen in each listing. All designs here are standard pieces and part of the available art selection. If a piece is on hand when purchased it will ship pretty quick, but if it has to be created ground up, then it can much longer to have it ready to send.

So that they are as good as can be before being shipped, each piece goes through a quality control system before ever being sent. Most of them are things I am much practiced on making and have honed over time to be beautiful efficient pieces of copper water fountain art along with other forms of art, but whatever the varying degrees of creation of art may be, they are all a labor of love and always worth the effort to make them as good as they can be.

That encompasses the majority of my work both here on etsy and in other places online, such as the home website:

Custom Work:

It has been a challenging last couple of years for custom work, art alterations and modifications, so as of June 2021 I can't do any custom work until I finish some custom work orders, and other art projects, including personal ones. Since I personally as artist, consider custom work a vast topic, please see the main website for more details on that subject that may be of help in answering many questions about the variety and types of custom work that can be done, as well as how such things are normally started and finished:

Materials and Handcrafting Process:

All artwork is hand made from 100% percent high grade copper. They are strong, sturdy, and created with quality at the forefront; and since copper is a nearly timeless metal, my pieces are made to last many, many for years. I hand cut, shape, hammer, braze with a gas torch, sand, and use specialty acid applications and torch heated reactions for patina color contrasts. A few designs I like to add hints of colored paint too (for specific aesthetic accents) on the copper, but with exception of the clear gloss metal finish, all the variety of colors are produced entirely through chemical reactions on the metal.

Cost can vary a lot from one piece to the next, and prices can be more or less due to the extra time (and/or material) involved in making the art. Though some items may look similar in size, they can vary more dramatically or be more expensive due to other factors involved in their production. Though it's a little counter intuitive, when working in metal the smaller something is, the longer it takes to make it, and the more detail that tiny space of art has or needs in the small space, the longer it can take to create. (Conversely however, shipping can be much less in cost for smaller pieces).

Art Photography and Painting:

The photography I have here is limited by my phone's lens, in that it and the flash on it require an abundance of light before an image can be clearly seen (and so the photos for the copper art displayed here are taken with a different camera) but the phone camera does come in handy if I come across a scene I want to capture that could otherwise be gone before I have the chance. The paintings are very old and as such are near and dear to my heart so I have them up, but will be finishing some other new paintings when time permits between copper projects, and also put them here to share.

Extra Info for order and shipping timeframes:

Please see item descriptions for more product, availability and shipping info. If a special date or time is needed for your order, and/or you'd like an ETA on a certain item, please send me a message about it, so I can try to prioritize it for you, and/or try accommodate your needs as best as can be done or attempted to do. I am an individual artist and have no staff and will do my best to help and/or respond as soon as possible, but sometimes it is not possible or feasible for me to accomplish.

Covid-19 effects:

Copper is an expensive material, and has gone up in price yet dropped in supply availability as a result of covid-19, yet I try to keep the overall prices as good as can be.

Quality is always paramount, and I aim for that in each part of my art work and profession, in order to create at the end of a piece, something that brings enjoyment and relaxation to you and others and lasts for many, many years to come.

Thanks so much for stopping by and viewing my artwork!

Greetings! Thank you for visiting the online store here. A brief summary of information:

Since copper fountains and art can last for decades and many years more, I have care info listed here first, followed by policy and other company information. Since copper can last so long, the information on Copper Care is comprehensive and varied, and may or may not be needed, but is designed to help with most situations that could arise depending on how a fountain is cared for, placed, used, or whatever particular situation may be applicable with a fountain in the short- and long-term use of having one... I personally would rather anyone had this and not need it, than need it and not have it, so it is here on the home website for Copper Phoenix Art in detailed form at:

Distilled is the simplest and best way to go and I thoroughly recommend it. If starting out that way and then staying with it, the fountains work, last, maintain color, and evolve patina in the best ways possible over many years, making it easy to have and own.

If only distilled water is used in fountains then they become nearly maintenance and carefree water features and are very easy to care for that way for both short and very long-term use. (Some cleaning is required from time to time. This is not exclusive to copper as any small self-contained fountain will require some upkeep. This can vary a lot depending on many factors. See website for details).

The comprehensive info is not just about maintenance, and also contains information about copper effects over short- and long-term time periods in regard to water fountains and other art; it has safety info and can also be a viable source for help with other fountain material types and so is not limited purely in scope to copper itself.

<<< All artwork by Copper Phoenix Art is made and designed only for aesthetic and ambient purposes. It is Not for any human, or pet/animal, drink or food uses.

If such work is desired, please seek out other company's products that are advertised for such uses. I wish you the best with it. Thank you. >>>

The pumps can last a very long time but that also varies on use and other factors. One thing is for certain though, the copper will outlast the pump by far. The pumps are easy to change and most are inexpensive. I use and recommend a certain brand, and it and the pump is included with all fountains. Most fountain pumps on the market everywhere do not have on/off switches built into them. This page covers getting pumps, changing pumps, and suggestions and ideas for getting accessories that can substitute for "on/off" switches:

NON-FOUNTAIN ART (wall art, sculpture, ect.)

Basically, compared to water fountains they are very easy to care for, and only may require dusting on occasion. (This can vary between indoor, well covered outdoor, and uncovered outdoor settings. Please see "Wall Art and Sculpture Care Info" for details on this topic at:
(Or see at the end of the section before the FAQ)

As an "online only" artist and business I do not post most hours of operation and am not open to the public. On that note, being able to pick-up art from me instead of shipping is not available. I appreciate how such things can be helpful and so I apologize for any inconvenience this may present to you and appreciate your understanding in advance. All items here are set to ship. I do have option on the shipping service, but it requires an inquiry to obtain. (Please see shipping for more info).

Email is my preferred and only way to communicate and conduct business as I do not have a business phone number available or listed for such things. The best and preferred way to contact me is through email, preferably by using the Conversation application they have in place here, as that helps make managing your order via Etsy with me easier to do. If that is not convenient or possible, my primary email works too and is: joseph [!at] (If contacting me outside of the etsy system for an order you made, please include your order number and other identifying information so I can more easily and thoroughly assist you).

I release all images to everyone for personal use and to share the images however they see fit with everyone.

I retain all copyright to all images only for Commercial use.

Extra details on art images:

My photographic digital images are set at a price that makes it easiest to purchase with a price point that also allows the purchaser more room to get a very nice print made of it from other companies, which I presently do not do or offer. However, In the future they will also be available in printed versions...

Because they're priceless and of limitless personal sentimental value to me, I am only retaining Copyright to all of my original painting's listed here (2) for any commercial reproduction purposes, e.g. such as limited edition prints, or any other commercial endeavor undertaken with all or any of my two painting's: "Mired Carriage" and "Celestial Thunderstorm". Sometimes it can take extra time for me to get to answering emails. I am an individual artist with no staff, and I appreciate your business and/or interest, and if need be, patience on my responding. Nonetheless, I strive to answer as soon as I can, and nonetheless as my "standard operating procedure" is to do the best I can for each customer in all ways possible and feasible on each and every order every time out.

Thank you.
- I accept all payment methods provided through Etsy's site.

- In regard to sales tax this is independently handled by Etsy by proxy for sellers here and so these costs are based on your particular state and area and not a result of individual sellers managing them.

- With my best apologies I am not open to the public and so do not collect any sales revenue in-person outside of online sales, and remain an online only business.

- In addition to that I am also not available for local pick-up by customers and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this could result in, and in advance appreciate your understanding about his policy I have.

<This is also my workshop standard that is not related to Covid-19 but certainly helps mitigate any such inadvertent potential health problem issues due to the Virus. On that note, copper itself is the best natural material for killing microbes and does so faster than other surfaces, including the novel Covid-19 virus, so the things I make are extra safe in that scope capacity too.

-Shipping is done via USPS but FedEx is another option but it is only available on request. USPS is the only auto-rate shipping calculator Etsy uses. (Please note USPS goes through occasional rate increases, and always calculates boxes over a 12" cube at higher rates, so these are the best shipping prices that can be obtained for you via USPS. FedEx sometimes can be comparable for small fountain boxes, but may be less for medium boxes, and is usually much less for large fountain boxes for continental U.S. shipments. Please see further shipping details for FedEx prices and shipping).

Though Priority Mail is more expensive, it is the fastest method for travel and arrivals. USPS Ground and FedEx Ground are great services but take much longer in transit to arrive: Priority is a few days. USPS and FedEx Ground (if you're farther away from here) can take a week or more sometimes.

-Tracking emails are sent after getting your shipping for you on your art. Tracking does not work until the Post Office scans in the items, so your package being trackable can vary by few days or less, and is dependent on my varying schedules and when I deliver them to the Post Office. (Same with FedEx)

- I put a great amount of care and work into packing all artwork items. As such each item here has a box and packaging cost included in the shipping total. This aspect is very important to me so that your art can travel safely and arrive in good shape and I have many years of experience doing it, so I am confident as well as cautious about it for each customer and myself.

- Please monitor your tracking. Items are delivered routinely without a signature required for pick-up, and so they are left in their designated place by the shipper and then cataloged as "delivered" and completed by them.
<I cannot and do not take financial responsibility for items that are lost after having been delivered. If this is a concern for you, please request a signature on delivery be added to your order to protect against any such unfortunate incident occurring and I will add it to your shipping order in advance of sending it>

-Items are insured against loss or damage.

-This is a process that takes a lot of time to manage and do and one I go out of my way to mitigate and prevent from happening. I have rarely ever had this event take place for a customer, but if it does, please notify me immediately so I can start working on resolving it, and if you'd like more info about it, please see the info linked on the homepage below, for more specific details on this subject as it is complicated by the nature of how shipping carriers offer and provide these services as well as my own policies and capabilities in regard to that subject.

- Shipping Privacy Info: I do not use or share your personal information for and from shipping in any way, (including phone numbers if applicable) shape or form, and only for it's intended purpose of getting your artwork to you. (Optionally if you would like the shipping carrier to have a contact phone number for you to help make finding you or notifying you easier, please send it to me, and I will add it to your order info if possible with the particular carrier).

At times shipping can be a lot more of a process as well as more informationally involved. If you have further questions on this subject please visit the home website at:
(extra topics/info available after a repeat of the summary info on that home page)

Extra info examples include, but not limited to:

...extra carrier details and info, extra large pieces, i.e. floor standing and/or even larger humongous waterfall fountains, one-kind-pieces, shipping insurance, ect...

If you have a need for more info other than what is there, I will try and help if possible as soon as I can. Thank you.

If a special date or time is needed on shipping your art, (such as a Birthday, Anniversary, or another special day) please let me know in advance, as I will do my best to accommodate it if possible with in the time frame and selected shipping method listed. Or I will certainly try to let you know in advance if it is not possible for you to get your desired art by the date you want. Upon request, I will also let you know of additional expedited shipping options, which cost more, and have to paid in advance of shipping, that are modes of transit that can expedite delivery in a much faster way.

Although I cannot guarantee items will arrive before a certain date, as once they leave here it is out of my hands, I will nonetheless try hard to get them on their way asap so they have the best chance of arriving on time for you. Most of the time the shipping carriers are great at accomplishing those things and have other expedited options available too.

Address changes requested by the customer/purchaser may be done if possible. If the item's new destination costs the same to ship then only updating the address is needed. If it costs more to ship via USPS than the original shipping paid, Copper Phoenix Art may and will attempt to change carriers and send via FedEx Home Delivery/Ground, as it can be of similar costs to the original shipping, or less in cost than it.
If it costs more to ship to a new address that cannot be covered by the customers prepaid shipping, then the customer is responsible for paying extra shipping costs to the new location, via Paypal, before the item can be sent to the new address. Every effort will be made for the customer to have shipping costs remain the same or near to the same cost first. If it costs less by changing the address, the difference will be refunded to the customer.

I do not use or share your personal information for and from shipping in any way (including phone numbers if applicable) whatsoever (marketing and otherwise, ect.) other than it's intended purpose of getting your artwork to you. Optionally if you would like the shipping carrier to have a contact phone number for you to help make finding you or notifying you easier, please send it to me with your order, and I will add it to your shipping (if they have that option available to do so) with the particular carrier.
Additional policies and FAQs

Sculpture or other copper art decor that is NOT a fountain, only needs (if anything at all) occasional dusting if inside or under a covered area outside.
A soft dry or damp cloth or other chemical free duster (such as a "feather duster") is all that is needed.

While indoors or under covered areas outdoors, there is virtually no effect on the art, but in very extreme conditions, if copper sculpture is outdoors but not under a covered area, dusting will help, but depending on your climate, if it is extremely moist with very high precipitation landing on your artwork on regular basis, after some years, (which varies considerably, perhaps 2-20 years) your art may begin to lose the protective gloss metal finish coat, in small areas that could spread over time, and then start to naturally oxidize or develop patina. If this is not desired, and you see the finish deteriorating in any way, you can reseal the art with clear spray-on metal finish, or a brush-on metal finish, in either flat or semi-gloss or full gloss mixtures, and this will help further protect the orange-like copper tones.
Outside of Etsy's standard's for record retention and of being specific help to you with your order, I, Joseph Ward and my business do not use or save or share your information for any reason or purpose whatsoever.

Etsy has privacy policies you can review in regard to your etsy account and/or a guest purchase through etsy.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I find new fountain pump's?

They retail direct from their site -- at great prices -- just check your old pump and/or pump box to get the correct model replacement and Gallons per Hour, or for quick reference on table fountain's water pumps needs: Small 35 gph, Medium 70gph, and large 100-150 gph. You can also see this info and more on:
This is also available here on etsy in the Additional Policies section (the only place it could be added to here)

Is pick-up of art available instead of shipping?

I'm sorry, but no it is not. My items on etsy can only be set as shipping, and locally, they are sent and arrive far faster than what I could do for a local pick-up. I am an "online only" art venue, which is direct from myself (the artist) and so am not open to the public for picking up or viewing art, or for my being able to meet anywhere for pick-up of it. I appreciate your understanding and Thank You for visiting the site and/or making a purchase.

Only in very rare instances with extra large artworks could I do that to negate shipping costs, but mostly these items can be delivered directly to you the customer, and locally often do not have extra delivery charges involved depending on how far it is. I try to help if possible or needed.

Do you do custom work?

More info about custom work can be viewed on the Custom work page For the last couple years, it is the one aspect of my work I have not had time for doing much of... Yet, I appreciate the interest and will try to help if I can, but please bear in mind upon inquiry that any new custom work project can be very time-consuming and/or expensive as such --and-- reciprocally, in regard and respect of prospective, and all customers time too, my replies may be very brief; as I have tiny availability from extra time being rendered scarce through the market (supply chain issues) and am busy finishing other long standing custom work projects, my own personal art projects, new designs, and restocking... Thank you.

Do Fountain and/or other Copper artwork come with Care instructions?

Yes. They are included with the art and if applicable for fountains, accompany the pump makers info too. More detailed copper fountain and copper art care instruction's are available here on the Copper Care Information and Pump pages.

It is very comprehensive and may be of help even with fountains that are not made from copper. When I have time to I'll be adding a brief FAQ concisely summarizing the information. A Care Instruction Paper comes with every fountain (or copper item) as a short version with a link to's page for copper care instructions.

Copper is a near timeless metal, and when given

Does algae grow in the fountains?

It can but rarely does. If this happens you can safely add an algaecide to the water to deter it. Various products are available online and at hardware/home improvement stores.

Copper is a superior choice from my view, because copper has intrinsic properties that kill microbes while also yielding extremely great benefits in regard to economy and longevity, making it a superior material for fountains. A lot of other nice fountains made of different materials, (i.e. stone, concrete, ceramic, porcelain, fiberglass, stainless steel, ect.) mostly lack the natural ability to deter microbes. I've seen copper fountains 30+ years old still running/functioning and looking great!

Do the water pumps for the fountains have an on-off switch?

No. There are few brands that do have it and my preferred brand doesn't, but you can buy extension cords that have a switch on them, or a wireless remote controlled outlet extender, or outlet extenders with a timer. There are a lot of options and an internet search will yield many options for you to choose from. See more info and ideas here:

Are water pumps included with the fountain?

Yes. They are each tested individually on each fountain, and the fountains all arrive with the pump already attached. The pump is hidden beneath a decorative copper pump cover, that is also included with each fountain.

Are the copper bowls separate pieces from the fountain?

No, the bowls are by and large not separate from the fountains. They are each brazed in a permanent "weld-like" way to the upper fountain structure, and so the fountains are mostly all one piece. Over the years I have made fountains that are set in a copper stand and have no bowl, but for the most part all the fountains are not made this way.

Is there a video resource to hear and see the fountains?

Across Etsy's entire platform they do not have sound in any video, but there a Youtube page connected here in the second link in the "Around the Web" section. Here is a direct link to it too:
Thank you.
