Thank you so much for popping by my Etsy shop! I really hope you like my Washed Up Cards made using bits of mirco-plastic I find beach cleaning on the River Thames (and further afield when I'm a lucky enough to be off on a coastal adventure).
I'm just a one woman band and all my cards are made by hand with oodles of love so sometimes there may be delays getting out orders when I'm super busy. Please do get in touch with any questions. I'd love to hear from you and will do whatever I can to help :) Sending lots of sunny good vibes your way.

I’ve not had much time for new designs recently but a lady got in touch asking for a nice retirement card! So I made this one ;) Hope you like it.
Who else misses hugs?!
I certainly do..! So if there’s someone you can’t see and hug right now why not send them a little paper hugs surprise in the post boomshopping_bagsshopping_trolley
Have a roarsome birthday! I love this card as I always use different bright coloured bits of beach cleaned plastic for the spikes on its back!

About WashedUpCards

Sales 2,500
On Etsy since 2020

I make cards using bits of plastic washed up on UK rivers and beaches.

Hello! I’m Flora from Washed Up Cards. Back in September 2019 I went along to a beach cleaning event on the River Thames, London, for 'World Rivers Day'.
🔹💛🔹
When we started cleaning I thought to myself there’s hardly any rubbish here... but as you look closer you realised there were loads of really tiny bits of plastic, aptly named, Micro plastic. Some of these bits of plastic were super colourful and almost jewel like so I stashed a few pieces in my pockets.
🔹💛🔹
Almost a week or so after the event my wonderful sister, who for a long time has been living virtually plastic free, was getting married. I decided to make her (and her husband) a homemade card using a few of the little colourful bits of plastic I had picked up...it was a cute just married car with with colourful bits of plastic coming off the bumper (if this makes any sense!).
🔹💛🔹
Anyway I had such fun making it I started sending more and more for birthdays, thank yous etc. The response from friends and family was gorgeous with people particularly loving the purpose and feel good factor behind the cards...
🔹💛🔹
It goes without saying that these cards aren’t going to dent the million tonnes of plastic entering our oceans every year but if it helps spread a little love and get a few people to be a teeny bit more conscious about their plastic consumption then in my book it’s making progress, however small.
🔹💛🔹
I really hope you enjoy these cards and once we’re out of this crazy corona time I’ll be organising a beach clean so if anyone in London wants to get involved please reach out.

I love being by the sea or close to a river. I love making things. I love lots of other things. What I don’t love is seeing our precious planet being ruined. Hope you can help me spread the washed up word around the world rather than plastic :)
